Hi!  So  im  a  second  generation  fish  keeper,  consequently,  I've  keep  a  large  variety  of  fish  with  guidance  from  my  father.

Presently  I  have  bettas  and  a  pair  of  molly  that  have  given  birth  to  some  fry.

I  intend  to  raise  these  fry  well,  as  they're  lives  after  all  whether  a  common  fish  or  not.  My  dream  is  to  breed  mosquito  rasboras.  That's  my  bit  Smile

 Would  you  have  either  culture?

You  have  not  been  active  on  the  IAH  forum  at  all.  You  just  have  5  posts.

Your  previous  posts  are  only  related  to  "buying  a  group  order  for  Killifish  eggs"  and  the  recent  culture  request

Weve  had  to  follow  some  strict  rules  on  sharing  cultures

So  until  seniors  advice  here  I'm  afraid  we  wont  be  able  to  take  a  decision  on  this.

 You  did  not  answer  this
What  you  plan  to  do  to  the  fish  you  raise  ?

I  can  understand  your  concern  as  a  lot  of  effort  goes  into  maintaining  and  keeping  the  cultures  alive,  but  I'm  sure  you've  seen  me  post  actively  on  all  the  facebook  groups,  that's  the  reason  I  don't  have  many  posts  on  IAH.  :)

What  is  the  purpose  of  that  question?  :S  Probably  sell  them  off  if  anyone  wants  mollies  or  give  away  after  a  long  enough  period  of  no  response,  I  have  a  30  gallon  to  store  them  in(8  kids)  so  they'll  be  comfortable  anyway.  But  I'm  not  allowed  to  keep  that  tank  active  for  too  long.

In  fact  the  only  reason  I  might  not  be  able  to  share  is  college  and  their  various  assessments  haha!

Molly  fry  are  capable  of  eating  crushed  flakes.

The  reason  for  that  question  is  that  we  dont  want  hobbyists  making  money  by  selling  fish  using  our  cultures.  We  have  all  earned  the  cultures  via  regular  forum  interaction,  attending  monthly  meetings  and  contributing  at  them.  Facebook  is  not  enough.  Every  post  gets  bumped  off  after  a  couple  of  days  there.

If  youre  capable  of  doing  this  then  build  your  reputation  and  then  we  will  take  a  call.

Also  we  have  rules  that  this  cannot  be  sold  and   cannot  be  shared  with  any  LFS.  Weve  also  seen  a   rise  in  opportunistic  hobbyists  using  the  forum   and  exploiting  our  willingness  to  share.  This  has  made  us  take  a  strict  call.

Posting  for  DeepakG:  Here  is  the  tank  picture  you  requested:

 http://imgur.com/a/KJSoL

It's  an  album  that  features  my  active  tanks,  15  gallon  and  5  gallon.  Inhabitants  at  the  moment  are  Black  mollies,  their  fry  in  the  15.  A  pretty  white  and  blue  betta  female  in  the  5  g.  I  have  met  your  requirement,  can  you  send  me  your  pickup  location?

Worth  a  mention,  I'm  getting  vinegar  eels,  I  won't  mind  sharing  when  provided  I  receive  them  and  am  able  establish  them.

 Thanks  for  sharing  that  Chaitanya

I  guess  Venkat  is  trying  to  arrange  this  for  you  and  he  will  explain  all  the  rules  to  you  on  worm  cultures.

We  request  you  to  attend  the  Mumbai  Aquarists  Meet  this  Sunday.
 http://indianaquariumhobbyist.com/community/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=36246

Apparantely  the  vinegar  eels  that  you  get  will  probably  have  come  from  us  because  we  have  that  too.  We  call  them  Beer  Worms.

I  will  not  be  able  to,  its  the  only  day  off  from  college  and  its  my  sacred  rest  day,  thanks  for  extending  an  invite  however  :)

No  no,  it  isn't  venkat,  you  may  check  with  him,  I'm  getting  these  from  friends  elsewhere.

A  great  excuse  to  buy  a  can  haha!  ;)

To  clear  any  misconceptions,  I've  already  cultured  micro  worms  before  and  done  so  successfully.  I  will  need  tips  on  other  worm  types  though,  will  ask.

 Hi  Chaitanya,

as  you  have  heard  from  the  revered  worms  experts,  we  will  need  minute  details  if  you  want  worms.  We  are  very  strict  about  this.

 please  let  us  know

 1.  your  star  sign
 2.  your  date  of  birth
 3.  the  day  of  your  birth
 4.  the  time  of  your  birth
 5.  any  distinguishing  marks  on  body.
 6.  Bowel  movements  (regular  or  irregular)
 7.  single  or  married  (or  gay)

We  hope  you  will  not  be  using  these  precious  worms  for  any  other  purpose  than  fish.  also  selling  is  not  allowed  ok.  or  you  will  be  banned  for  life  from  one  garden  of  5  gardens  in  dadar,  mumbai.  we  don't  encourage  commercial  activity  in  regards  to  these  worms.  You  may  laugh  but  some  of  us  have  grown  quite  close  to  these  worms.  Just  the  other  day  i  swear  one  worm  recognized  me  when  i  was  about  to  feed  it  to  my  shivram  and  shubhangi.  We  will  need  you  to  sign  a  NDA  before  you  can  even  see  a  worm.  please  attached  your  pan  card  and  passport  sized  photo  to  this  NDA.
