 Given  the  specs  of  your  tank,  it  is  approximately  equivalent  to  6  gallons.

 10w  LED  should  be  good  for  your  tank,  10  X  1w  LED.

 I  personally  prefer  1w  and  3w  LED  than  10w  LED  because  that  would  allow  the  light  to  spread  evenly  across  tank.

 As  for  the  places  many  choices  are  available  in  ebay

 @garothmaan  yours  is  a  56  gallon  tank.

 General  rules  is  10w  LED  per  10  gallon  approximately.  It  comes  to  60-70w  for  your  case.

 Again  my  choice  would  be  3w  LED's  approximately  20-23  3w  LED's  should  be  good  for  your  tank!

 LED  is  a  complex  affair..  go  for  T5  or  PLL,  they  are  still  viable  and  are  cheap..  bulb  replacement  every  two  year  will  be  only  120  per  bulb..  which  is  not  bad.

 Hallo  Friend..

 getting  led  from  market  is  not  a  big  deal.its  readily  available  in  Mumbai  and  i  know  few  dealers  who  can  help  us  to  import  the  LED's  as  per  the  specific  req  can  order  them  and  make  it  available  in  Mumbai.

 According  to  my  suggestion  if  u  planning  to  install  LED  plane  thing  must  thought  for  today  and  future  req  consideration.  go  for  high  light  specifications  which  can  cover  your  today's  as  well  tomorrows  need.  we  currently  designing  few  concepts  for  plantation  and  Marin  tank  users  .

 Once  i  done  my  work  i  surely  going  to  update  here  at  IAH  which  helps  all  of  us  only.

 Regards

 Srinidhi,  all  DIY  requires  good  amount  of  effort  and  doing  a  LED  lighting  is  no  exception,  but  once  done  LED's  have  good  life  and  saves  power  on  a  longer  run!

 True..  Sathish.
 This  will  be  viable  only  with  higher  end  LED,   like  cree  or  osram.
 People  think  that  all  LED  are  same,  if  thats  the  case  then  people  then  go  for  cheap  Chinese  LED  and  think  they  are  saving  a  lot  on  power.   Let  me  clarify  that  the  Chinese  LED  are  less  efficient  than  the  T5  or  PLL  bulbs  from  osram  or  Philips.  And  their  life  expectancy  is  also  not  guaranteed.  .
