Help  required  for  choosing  light  in  my  new  planted  aquarium
 Tank  size  30*12*18  L*B*H
Diy  Substrated  topped  up  with  River  sand
Would  be  growing  Moss  on  rock  and  mostly  dwarf  grass  vaiety  in  foreground
 No  plan  going  for  CO2.

 So  i  have  2  choices
either  going  for  2*36  watts  pll  or  1*10  watts  led  flood  light
 Which  one  would  be  best

 Thanks

I  think  2*10w  LED  would  have  been  a  better  option.  More  energy  efficient  and  great  visual  effect.  Also  much  cooler  operations.

If  you  mean  the  flood  lights  then  they  are  use  less.  I  had  them  and  they  do  not  work  well.  that  is  my  experience.  I  had  not  included  any  blue  or  red  spectrum  LED  lights  with  them.

If  you  have  not  planted  densely  then  you  will  have  algae  within  the  week.  As  per  your  first  post  if  the  only  plants  are  moss  and  DHG  with  out  CO2  then  you  will  have  algae.  Remove  one  PLL  for  the  time  being,  add  it  if  required  later.

Useless  in  what  sense,  please  elaborate.
How  long  did  you  use  them?

Yes  he  is  right,  but  no  need  to  remove,  just  keep  1light  off  for  a  while  and  if  you  don't  see  any  growth  then  start  it.  You  can  keep  the  photo  period  less  to  avoid  algae.

10W  led  is  also  ok,  infact  it  will  give  good  spread  of  grass,  I  have  not  used  it  yet  but  I  had  seen  it  on  Arvind  Shetty's  tank.  Thumb Up

I  used  them  in  a  60  cmX30cmX36cm  tank  with  ada  amazonia  and  pressurized  co2.  Growth  was  not  good  with  flood  lights.
