My  friend  who  is  also  a  beginner  wants  to  add  few  fish  to  his  aquarium  tank  in  next  few  weeks.

 Aquarium  Tank  (24"x12'x18").
 Internal  Filter  -  650  l/h

 Plants:
 Valesneria
 Hygrophila  Difformis

 Fish  Planned
 4  -  Albino  Widow  Tetra
 2  -  Veilgold  Angel  Fish
4  -  Rummy  Nose  Tetra  or  Cardinal  Tetra  or  Harlequin  Rasboras

Can  someone  please  suggest  if  these  fish  are  ok  for  beginners  or  we  should  go  for  some  other  fish?

My  current  tank  has  Tiger  Barbs  and  Serpae  Tetra  so  apart  from  these  any  other  species  would  be  most  welcome.

I  have  seen  Angel  Fish  and  Albino  Widow  Tetra  in  many  LFS  so  I  don't  see  problem  getting  them  but  where  can  we  get  Rummy  Nose  Tetra  or  Cardinal  Tetra  or  Harlequin  Rasboras  fish.  I  checked  aquarium  shops  in  Shivaji  Nagar,  few  Aquarium  shops  in  BTM  and  Kormangala  and  none  of  them  had  Rummy  Nose  Tetra  or  Cardinal  Tetra  or  Harlequin  Rasboras  fish.

 Thanks,

 Amit

 Currently  my  friend  has

 Harlequin  Rasboras-4
 Serpae  Tetra  -4
 Black  Phantom  -2
 Albino  Widow  Tetra  -  4
 Platys  -  3
 Red  Eye  tetra  -  4

We  did  not  buy  Rummy  Nose  Tetra  because  i  read  somewhere  they  are  not  hardy  fish.  So  dropped  the  idea  to  buy  them.  Maybe  once  we  get  more  experienced  we  will  get  them.  Same  with  Angel  Fish.

Beware  of  Albino  Widow  Tetra  though.  Widow  tetra  have  grown  big  and  last  time  i  got  small  Black  Phantom,  they  ate  them  for  supper.

Currently  no  plans  to  add  any  more  fish.

 Hi  Tubby,

Try  to  keep  maximum  2-3  varieties  and  group  of  6  minimum.

 It  looks  good.

If  you  want  to  make  tetra  tank  you  can  remove  the  Platys.

 Thanks  Abhi  for  the  suggestion.

I  will  try  to  remove  the  platys  and  add  more  tetras  or  Rasboras  in  place  of  them.

 Regards,

 Amit
