I have two albino oscars 9 to 10 inch in size
i feed them ordinary fish food , the cheapest , tetra bits which are too smaal for there big mouths .. Also i feed 5 or 6 big grasshoppers which i collect from my garden.... today i received the HIKARI CICHLIDS and tried to feed them, the oscars were hungry, came fast to the food, take two or three pellets and didnt mind the rest.....
they are still hungry but not minding the rest of the floating pellets

Use live food as only treats ....
If you are trying new food , starve them for 2 -3 days and introduce only little food.
Net the extra food out.
Repeat the procedure again . Also it is the right time to introduce additional varieties of food if you are interested.
Keep in mind , fishes can go without food upto a week or more.
