 Tank  Size  =  60  cm  (length)  *  30  cm  (width)  *  38  cm  (height-excluding  gravel  height  of  7  cms)
 Gallons  US  =  18;  Liters  =  69
Type  of  tank  =  Walstad  low  tech  planted  aquarium.  Easy  plants.

Calculators  for  low  light  is  around  3500  Lumens.  Let  me  know  if  I  would  do  well  with  these  three  tube  lights,

Wipro  10  Watt  LED  6500K  with  Heat  Sink  900  Lumens

Mehai  12  Watt  LED  Tube  Blue  Colour  1100  Lumens

Mehai  12  Watt  LED  Tube  Pink  Colour  1100  Lumens

 Questions,
 1.  Will  the  lighting  be  enough?
 2.  Tha  Mehai  tube  light  have  not  mentioned  the  lumens  per  watt.  Am  I  right  to  assume  1100  Lumens?
 3.  Would  you  suggest  a  different  colour  combination?  Should  I  go  for  more  white  instead?

I  do  not  want  to  work  with  PLL  lights  and  wire  small  LED's  together,  it's  too  much  work.

 24  Watts  2  Feet  LED.  4000K.

Is  4000K  neutral  white  good  for  plants.  Each  of  these  tubes  is  2880  Lumens.  Should  I  combine  this  with  a  1  feet  blue  and  pink  mehai  light  instead?

Use  the  common  brands  of  6500K  10W  LED  tube  lights.  You  will  need  2  or  3  of  these  for  a  good  spread  of  light  over  the  tank.  you  can  try  eveready,  syska,  orpat  brands.  If  you  are  using  the  20W  ones  then  two  will  be  sufficient.  Stick  to  the  common  brands.  They  come  with  a  2  year  guarantee  and  can  be  easily  replaced.  warm  white  (4000K)  and  pink  ones  wont  be  ideal.

As  simple  as  that  huh.  Great  Smile

I  read  these  articles  and  was  wondering  if  red  (pink)  and  blue  are  very  important.  Thought  of  mixing  it  with  6500K

Will  stick  to  the  6500K  basics  then.

Seriously,  For  a  low  tech  tank  you  don,t  need  to  do  so  much  research.  From  what  i  understand  you  have  a  45  cm  height  tank,  use  two  of  the  20  W   LED  tube  lights.  They  should  be  suffucient.

I  have  done  enough  experiments  and  more  my  self....  read  through  if  you  have  the  patience...

I  read  that  thing  before  posting  this  question.  And  that's  exactly  what  made  me  write  "I  do  not  want  to  work  with  PLL  lights  and  wire  small  LED's  together,  it's  too  much  work."  in  the  question  above  :)

You  are  absolutely  right.  I  am  over  thinking  this.  I  will  set  this  up  with  four  10  W  LED  tube  light  as  you  suggested.  This  is  because  I  could  not  find  a  20  W  LED  tube  light  which  is  only  2  feet  long.  If  you  have  such  a  link  do  let  me  know.

 Thanks  for  chipping  in!

In  Bangalore  you  can  get  the  eveready  20  W  tubes  in  BVK  Iyengar  road  near  majestic.  Online  i  found  them  to  be  more  expensive.

Without  the  18%  GST  I  am  sure  that  it  would  be  much  cheaper  at  a  shop  than  it  is  online  (unless  they  discount  it).  Why  did  I  not  think  of  that.  Good  point.  Will  look  around.
