Here  is  a  simple  effective  "Hands  Free"  water  change  setup.

 How  it  works  is:

 1.  Aquarium  end  is  connected  as  shown.

 2.  Other  end  is  connected  to  bathroom  tap  with  a  hose  connector.

 3.  Turn  ON  tap  for  15  seconds  then  turn  OFF  and  disconnect  the  hose  and  leave  it  near  the  drain.  Water  will  start  draining  from  the  aquarium.

 4.  To  fill  water  back  connect  the  hose  back  to  the  tap  and  turn  it  ON.  Turn  OFF  tap  and  disconnect  when  aquarium  is  full.  Water  will  again  start  draining.  Then  remove  hose  from  aquarium  and  roll  it  up  from  aquarium  end  so  that  water  in  the  hose  drains  as  hose  is  rolled  up.  No  mess  water  change  is  done   Thumbs Up

Since  the  shot  glass  is  placed  at  the  end  of  the  hose  there  will  be  no  disturbance  to  substrate  and  fish  will  not  escape  since  gap  between  shot  glass  and  hose  is  small.

Tip  :  When  buying  hose  for  aquarium  water  change  buy  sturdy  hose,  if  you  squeeze  and  leave  it  should  regain  shape.  Many  shops  these  days  are  selling  thin  walled  flimsy  hose  so  shop  around  till  you  find  sturdy  hose.
