Hey  everyone...I  have  a  planted  tank  which  i  have  been  running  on  a  CO2  kit. Now  i  want  to  start  a  second  30  gallon  planted  tank  too.I  want  to  to  hook  this  up  to  the  CO2  kit  as  well.I  needed  to  know  how  do  i  go  about  the  connection  part...

Do  i  buy  another  bubble  counter  or  shall  i  split  the  tube  running  into  my  tank  after  the  bubble  counter  and  hook  it  up  using  a  T  joint  into  the  second  tank  as  well  and  should  i  do  this, will  i  be  able  to  manage  the  same  bubble  count  in  both  the  tanks  without  any  problem  OR

am  i  supposed  to  have  another  counter?

Do  i  need  another  needle  valve?

Please  do  let  me  know  if  there  are  any  other  parameters  for  me  to  look  into.Thanx  a  lot

 Hi  vinay,
U  will  not  be  needing  another  bubble  counter  or  a  needle  valve,  you  could  use  a  T  after  the  bubble  counter  and  run  another  co2  like  through  a  flow  controler,  that  should  do  the  job

Hi  Vinay,  i  think  going  in  for  a  set  of  1  bubble  counter  and  a  needle  valve  will  make  sense.  Your  new  tank  might  not  require  the  same  amont  of  CO2  as  the  prevous  one  and  at  times  if  you  have  algae  and  stuff,  you  might  have  to  even  reduce  the  co2  for  1  tank,  at  that  time  the  needle  valve  will  be  helpful.  The  cost  is  hardly  anything  in  Bangalore  so  i  would  suggest,  you  pick  one  of  each  and  use.  Yes  you  wil  obviously  require  the  T  shape  distributor  also.

 Hi  Vinay

I  completely  agree  with  nikhil,  do  as  he  has  suggested.  I  tried  splitting  my  co2  supply  into  2  tanks,  unfortunately  it  was  a  failure.  The  idea  is  to  have  both  the  tanks  at  the  same  level  from  the  ground,  I  was  told  even  the  length  of  tubes  to  both  the  tank  should  be  similar.  To  make  things  easier  when  you  have  another  set  of  needle  valve  and  bubble  counter  you  can  control  the  co2  goin  into  the  tank.

    Regards
       Harshal.

 Hello  Vinay,

I  agree  with  Nikhil  ,  u  need  to  buy  1  Bubble  Counter  and  1  more  Needle  valve  and  a  T  Junction   for  the  other  Connection  ,  its  better  that  way  since  even  i  have  2  tanks  ,  and  even  i  tried  connecting  2  Tanks  with  a  single  Connection  with  a  BIG  failure  ,  does  not  work  !!
