Well,  You  will  not  have  the  satisfaction  of  performance  with  any  other  brand  except  with  Eheim,  so  I  suggest  you  go  for  that  only,  you  may  look  for  a  2nd  hand  Eheim,  quite  possible  you  will  be  able  to  find  one  with  one  of  the  IAHians.......

 Hi  Nanu,
Just  streach  your  self  to  may  be  another  2K  you  should  be  able  to  get  a  basic  Eheim  2213  or  a  2215....  Its  one  good  filter  that  can  run  for  a  longer  time  than  others.  You  need  not  have  to  worry  about  your  filter  the  moment  you  have  a  Eheim.

Even  if  some  thing  goes  wrong  its  really  easy  to  get  the  spares  in  india  due  to  mishandling.

 Hi  Nanu,
If  you  ask  me  i  wont  even  go  near  a  Boyu  /  Fulval  or  a  Atman....

I  have  had  a  really  bad  experience  with  Boyu  and  Atman  external  filter  and  found  it  really  difficult  to  replace  minute  things  of  the  filter...  note  that  mine  did  not  even  last  6  months.

Fluval  is  a  german  brand  by  the  largely  reputed  company  'Hagen'.

 Hi
If  you  want  to  have  a  budget  purchase,  go  in  for  power  filters  at  about  Rs.  500-700.
If  you  are  going  in  for  external  go  in  for  eheim  only,  there  is  no  sense  in  going  in  for  mid  range  filters.
It  is  not  that  they  are  not  good,  building  a  filter  is  not  rocket  science,  but  the  diff  between  eheim,  haegn  etc  and  x,y,  z  brands  is  that  every  eheim,  haegn  will  be  a  good  product  built  with  high  quality  components,  where  as  with  other  brands  you  will  never  know  which  piece  is  good.

 Nanu

Select  a  filter  where  throughput  volume  will  be  2  to  3  times  of  total  water  volume  per  hour.

That  is  if  the  water  volume  of  your  tank  is  200  liters,  select  a  machine  which  will  filter  600  liters  per  hour.

Your  tan  k  capacity  is  160  liters.  Since  you  aready  have  other  filters,  Ehiem  2213  could  be  goo  option.  Otherwise  go  for  Ehiem  2215  (600  liters/Hour)  and  discontinue  existing  filters.

 Regards
 Rana
