 Hi  All,
I  have  placed  order  for  a  new  tank  as  one  of  smaller  tanks  broke  last  week.   24*18*18  is  the  size  and  it  would  be  in  a  6mm  glass.  Is  this  thinckness  safe  for  the  tank  size  I  had  mentioned.
The  LFS  guy  said  it  is  completely  safe  for  this  size.  Any  suggestions  please?

Buy  the  float  glass  Modi/St.Goblain  from  Balaji  on  Central  street  near  'Shivaji  Nagar'  bustand.  They  have  computerised  machines  that  will  cut  ,bevel  and  grind  the  five  glass  planes  to  your  size.  Call  your  aquarium  pals  to  help  stick  them  up.  No  big  deal.  You  will  get  a  better  glass  quality  tank  than  the  LFS.

8  mm  is  super  but  jacks  up  the  price.  Go  for  it  if  the  increase  is  not  a  constraint.

 100%  safe..  Thumb Up
I  am  having  48x18x18  inches  tanks  made  with  6  mm  glass.

 Hi  karna

This  sounds  perfectly  safe  to  me.  Just  make  sure  you  put  supports(with  the  same  glass)  for  the  tank  along  the  length  of  the  aquarium,  this  way  the  bulging  will  be  avoided  and  the  tank  will  last  for  a  longer  time  without  any  issues.  Also  be  sure  that  the  sticking  of  the  glass  is  done  well.

   Happy  Fishkeeping!!

      Regards
