 guys,

i've  been  noticing  that  my  FH  is  not  eating  properly  and  exhibits  very  very  strange  behavior.

he  stays  in  a  particular  corner  all  the  time,  refusing  to  move.    i  added  a  pair  of  convicts  and  a  green  terror  hoping  to  get  the  dominance  thing  going.    it  didn't  work.  i  followed  it  by  adding  a  low  grade  FH  in  the  same  tank.    my  FH  (Bhup)  ignores  the  new  FH  completely.    to  top  it  off,  Bhup  just  sits  there  doing  nothing....  Crying or Very sad

 WHAT  DO  I  DO???  Confused:

Should  have  been  stressed  or  may  be  infected.    Did  you  feed  any  live  feed  like  gold  fish  without  quarantining?

Then  could  be  stress.    As  a  general  aid  a  partial  water  change  followed  by  adding  table  salt  in  the  ratio  1  tblspn/10  gallons  of  water  with  a  raise  in  temp  to  around  30  C  would  help  increase  apetite  &  come  out  of  stress.    Keeping  the  tank  under  very  low  profile  lighting  and  reducing  foot  traffic  near  the  tank  would  help  it  in  comming  out  of  stress.

I  dont  think  space  would  be  an  issue  when  it  comes  to  FHs.    I've  seen  people  raising  FHs  from  around  3"  to  10"  in  a  20  gallon  tank.

but  if  it  would  have  been  in  a  large  tank  ,  then  shifted  to  small  one
there  is  chance  of  the  fish  getting  TB  (i  had  a  experience  like  this,
and  it  took  two  months  to  recover,  i  treated  rifamycin  mixed  in  food,
but  now  it  became  perfectly  allright)
 anyway  best  of  luck
 regards
 Sam

 ok...

i  have  done  a  partial  water  change  to  no  avail....  will  try  it  with  table  salt.

the  FH  was  moved  from  a  smaller,  1.5x0.75.1  to  a  3x1.25x1.25....  so  he  has  gone  to  a  tank  much  bigger  than  the  one  he  is  used  to.....

what  options  do  i  have  left???

 v,

i  put  him  in  with  my  red  devil...  after  a  few  days,  i  removed  the  devil  and  kept  him  in  another  tank...  FH  is  now  back  to  normal,  swimming  around  and  eating  quite  a  bit...  but  i  will  definitely  try  raising  the  temp  next  time...

 thanx.
