The  tank  is  too  small  for  rosy  barbs.  They  can  grow  to  a  good  size  and  are  too  active  for  such  a  small  tank.  I  think.  I  mean  I  can  be  wrong  too.  <grin>

The  killies  I  saw  in  Assam  had  a  bright  white  spot  on  the  top  of  their  heads  making  it  easy  to  identify  them  when  catching  them  in  the  wild.  Trevor  any  idea  if  thats  generally  true?  They  were  similar  in  shape  to  the  fish  Trevor  has  shown  but  the  tail  had  a  slight  reddish  tint.

Trevor,  are  you  sure  killies  can  be  kept  with  badis  for  its  size?  I've  seen,  killies  are  good  gulpers.

You  get  beautiful  killi's  in  the  north  east  and  the  fish  colours  vary  from  location  to  location.
The  bright  white  spot  on  top  of  their  heads  is  there  on  the  killi's  whose  pic  I  posted  not  on  all  species.  These  are  Aplocheilus  Var.
 Known  here  as  SRP  07.
Most  of  these  species  of  Panchax,  Pachypanchax  and  Epiplatys  are  very  much  alike  also  in  their  life  and  breeding  habits.

Badis  is  also  from  the  North  east.

Yes  Shankar,  but  these  belong  to  a  different  var.  and  do  not  grow  large.  The  great  gulpers  are  the  Aplocheilus  lineatus(striped  panchax).

The  dwarf  shrimp  live  in  the  thick  growth  below  and  will  be  soon  finished  off  if  the  Killi  's  and  Badis  are  not  fed  properly.

 Hi
Guppies,  platies,  mollies  etc.  will  suit  your  tank  most.  Betta  is  another  great  choice,  as  it  is  a  surface  breather  lack  of  oxygenation  will  not  harm  it.  The  tank  size  is  perfect  for  betta.  Swordtails  are  not  good  in  small  tanks,  they  need  larger  tanks,  the  males  have  a  tendency  to  jump  out.
These  fishes  are  sturdy  and  available  easily,  later  on  you  can  change  them  with  any  other  fish  you  want.
Don't  go  in  for  exotic  species  untill  you  have  good  experience  in  handling  fishes.

I  want  real  small  fishes  as  I  have  a  typical  set  up  in  mind.
Guppy's,  mollies  are  toooo  big  for  my  choice...
