 Hi  Sampath,
Why  have  you  got  your  overflows/trickle  in  the  middle  of  the  tank?  typically  its  placed  on  one  side  or  at  the  back  of  the  tank.

How  tall  are  the  overflows/trickle  ?

 Rahul

 Hey  Sam!
 glad  to  see  you!
I  would  like  to  know  if  you  are  planning  a  invert/reef  system  or  a  fish  only  marine?

sand  -  (just  looking  for  good  reef  sand  please  do  suggest)
skimmer  -  insump  skimmer  please  suggest  a  good  make..

 I  would  suggest  a  2016  or  a  via-aqua  in-sump  skimmer  for  the  tank
WRT  the  substrate  I'd  say  that  Azoo  and  Red-sea  are  the  only  companies  that  market  reef  substrates  in  India  and  both  of  them  are  good.  The  red-sea  substrate  that  I  recently  saw  in  Mumbai  is  a  palish  yellow  colour  that  has  recently  come  in  and  the  azoo  reef  substrate  is  snow  white  (choice  is  yours  but,  since  you  want  to  go  the  trickle  filter  way  I  would  just  like  to  suggest  you  to  use  less  substrate  or  just  a  1/2"  layer.
Though  I  am  not  a  very  big  fan  of  trickle  filters  I  would  not  like  to  discourage  you  but,  just  caution  you  to  use  less  of  bio-filtration  in  the  chambers  and  more  of  mechanical  filtration.  But,  like  I  said  earlier  it  all  depends  upon  what  kind  of  system  you  want  to  create.
 Wish  you  all  the  best!

 Hi  Sam,

Wow...  Trickle  filters  in  the  middle  of  the  tank..  Clapping   nice  &  innovative  idea....
But  dont  you  think  it  would  look  much  better  at  the  corner  side  of  the  last  glass  walls.

Why  not  a  48x18x18  in  sump  with  a  refugium  and  a  small  quarantine  tank.  3  in  one,  like  the  same  I  am  going  to  make  for  my  new  5'  Marine  Tank.

Anyways,  where  is  your  old  marine  tank?  Did  you  placed  that  somewhere  else  or  what.

 @  Rahul
i  have  placed  my  trickle  filter  in  between  just  to  make  a  london  bridge  formation  with  live  rocks  and  inverts  and  with  few  dead  plate  corels...  in  few  days  those  trickle  filter  chambers  will  disappear  beneath  the  live  rocks.

 @  Suraj
   Thanks  mte...  iam  back   Smile

 @  Shankar
thanks  alot  shankar  sir.  its  really  a  great  feel  when  guru  appreciates  s  student..  Very Happy  my  creative  time  period  is  our  i  need  your  help  now..   Smile

 @  Vijay
Thanks  for  your  comment.  sure  will  keep  updated

 @  nauzer
thanks  nauzer..  iam  planning  to  setup  a  FOWLR  setup  with  few  inverts  like  anemones  etc.  and  nauzer  could  you  please  lemme  know  the  details  of  azoo  reef  substrate  my  assistance  where  in  search  of  azoo  reef  substrate  but  they  coudn't  find  it  what  they  can  find  was  red  sea  substrate  which  is  very  expensive.  if  you  have  them  in  stock  please  do  pm  me  the  price  and  also  lemme  know  how  many  kgs  do  i  require  for  my  tank  w  -  6ft  *  h  -  2.5ft  *  b-  2ft.   like  said  iam  going  with  via-aqua  in-sump  skimmer.  i  guess  i  have  to  learn  many  more  thinks  from  you  and  shankar  walking  talking  encyclopedia.

 @rocky
actually  my  idea  was  to  make  a  london  bridge  formation  with  LR  and  inverts  and  with  few  dead  plate  corels  and  i  have  designed  and  planned  the  setting  process  in  my  3d  software  maya.

and  my  old  marine  tank  is  in  my  room  now   Very Happy  planning  to  setup  a  planted  tank  with  few  tetras  in  it..  i  dnt  wanna  give  this  tank  away  because  i  feel  its  lucky  tank  for  me  in  few  months  my  company  s  take  the  top  slot  so  i  shifted  him  to  my  room.  Very Happy  .

i  have  a  doubt  do  we  require  co2  for  reef  tank?  experts  please  do  suggest...  Â correct  me  if  iam  wrong...  experts(  nauzer,  shankar,  pradeep)  please  hurry  up  before  i  do  something  to  my  tank  Chuckle  Â ROFL  ...

i  got  this  stupid  doubt  after  reading  this  formula

 chemical  equation  describing  photosynthesis  is:

carbon  dioxide  +  water  +  light  Ã   carbohydrate  plus  oxygen

 or  in  a  chemical  formula:

 CO2  +  H2O  Ã   CH2O  +  O2

read  this  issue..  sorry  if  i  have  posted  anything  wrong

Codename,  and  to  all  other  marine  people,

With  all  that  bio  media,  I  am  sure  his  Nitrate  Factories[i  love  that  word]  are  gonna  churn  out  truck  loads  of  nitrates.  I  am  sure  this  is  not  good  for   any  marine  setup.

 Just  my  opinion!
