 Hi  suraj

I  have  a  suggestion  put  the  tennellesus  arround  the  rocks  and  on  the  RHS  of  the  tank  and  you  can  plant  the  glosso  in  the  center  foregroungd  of  the  tank  it  will  create  a  good  impact.   Smile
BTW  the  tank  has  cleared  up  well  the  biological  filtration  has  set  in  well.

 Regards
   Harshal

Thanks  for  the  suggestion,  Harshal.  That's  what  I  was  planning  for.

I  am  just  waiting  to  get  my  lot  of  glossostigma.  Until  then,  I  want  to  see  how  the  tenellus  fares  in  my  tank.  Right  now  only  one  of  the  tenellus  has  sent  out  a  runner.  I  am  waiting  to  see  whether  it  sprouts.

Meantime,  I  just  found  I  have  a  pregnant  shrimp  in  the  tank!!   Cheering

 Suraj,
Was  just  wondering,  does  your  tank  have  a  slight  bulge  in  it?  mine  does  and  was  wondering  if  it  was  something  to  be  worried  about?
Its  a  54x22x22  with  12  mm  glass  and  no  top  support...
 Cheers

 Hi  Amae,

I  don't  have  any  bulge.  This  could  be  probably  because  mine  is  18"  wide  and  21"  tall,  which  is  lesser  than  yours.

If  you  do  have  a  serious  bulge,  I  suggest  you  get  a  brace  fixed  in  the  middle  to  be  on  the  safer  side.  Remember  that  there  is  plenty  of  water  inside  and  can  cause  serious  injury.

haha  yeah,  just  emptied  the  tank  to  half  the  volume  and  definitely  gonna  put  in  a  brace,  only  thing  is  one  in  the  middle  is  going  to  cause  problems  putting  and  removing  driftwood....  would  lengthwise  struts  do  the  trick?

I  am  not  sure  whether  just  lengthwise  braces  would  do  the  trick.  I  would  prefer  breadthwise  strips  on  top  of  the  tank.  You  should  hopefully  able  to  navigate  the  driftwood  in.

You  can  also  probably  think  of  a  wooden  brace  all  round  the  tank  about  1"  thick,  like  on  Madan's  planted  tank  and  a  removable  center  brace  for  added  strength.

IMPO,  adding  bracing  along  the  length  it  is  better  than  that  done  along  the  breadth  for  various  reasons.  See  side  view

MY  Tank  (4.5X1.75X1.75X12mm)  has  bracing  on  all  the  four  sides  both  breadth  and  lenghthwise...But  no  support  at  the  bottom..Only  the  stand  which  is  a  six  legged  metal  frame..!.It  does  not  have  any  bulge  ...It  has  however  been  in  use  only  for  the  last  month

 Hi  Vyas,

You  shouldn't  be  having  any  problems  for  a  tank  that  size  with  12mm  thickness  even  without  braces.

 My  Tank  Update:
The  Azuria  is  doing  well  after  the  trim.
The  Hygrophila  polysperma  var.  has  grown  well  too.
The  Rotalas  (wallichi,  rotundufolia,  nanjenshan)  might  require  a  trim  over  the  next  few  days.
 The  Heterenthera  is  getting  better.
Last  but  not  the  least,  the  tenellus  is  putting  out  runners  and  hopefully  I  should  have  the  new  shoots  rising  over  the  next  week.

Lighting  is  8  hours  continuous  now.  I  have  some  GSA  on  the  glass  and  on  the  driftwood.  No  other  forms  of  algae.

I  have  just  brought  in  the  ferns  and  should  be  setting  them  up  on  driftwood  this  weekend.   Very Happy   More  updates  and  pictures  then.

Today's  Update:  The  tank  is  38  days  old  now.

This  was  the  shot  taken  10  days  ago  after  the  trim.

 This  is  from  today.

Awaiting  your  views.  More  pictures  to  follow.

Looking  nice..  but  the  driftwood  is  not  visible  now.  Would  look  nice  if  that  is  also  visible.
