 Hi,

 Wanted  your  opinion  the  keeping  discus  and  clowns  together.  Clowns  can  get  pretty  large,  but  are  very  peaceful  towards  other  species  of  fish.  Both  require  pristine  water  conditions.  Are  they  suitable  enough  to  keep  together?
 Thanks.

 I  second  Rocky.  Clown  loaches  are  pretty  big  but  they  can  even  be  kept  with  very  small  fish  like  cardinals  and  neons  if  you  would  like  to  add  them  with  your  discus.  Just  be  careful  about  whitespot,  but  since  you  are  keeping  discus  your  water  quality  will  have  to  be  pristine!

 Best  of  luck!

 My  water  quality  is  good.  I  keep  my  discus  in  a  bare  bottom  tank  with  50  percent  water  change  every  day.  My  only  concern  is  the  high  temp.  I  keep  them  at  32C.  Is  that  ok  for  a  clown  loach?  or  an  angel  fish?  I  have  already  intoduced  2  angels  (after  a  1  month  quarantine  period)  and  2  small  loaches  (without  quarantining  them)
 Also,  the  loaches  keep  on  swimming  up  and  down  near  the  filter  outlet....i  assume  because  they  like  faster  currents,  but  I've  not  seen  them  eat  anything  since  I've  intoduced  them  (3  days  ago)  Is  that  normal?

 Clown  loaches  should  be  fine  but  you  might  want  to  slowly  condition  your  discus  to  say  30C.  How  long  have  you  had  your  loaches?  If  its  less  than  say  a  week  i  wouldnt  worry.  Try  some  sinking  food  if  you  have  any.

 Just  a  pointer  -  try  not  to  introduce  any  fish  into  a  discus  tank  without  quarantining.  Why  would  you  want  to  take  the  risk?

 One  thing  I  wanted  to  ask  -  Are  Clown  Loaches  fairly  active  at  night?

 Because  if  they  are  then  they  might  be  a  disturbance  to  Discus  who  settle  down  for  the  night.

By  the  nature  clown  loaches  are  shy  type  of  fish.  Most  of  times  times  they  try  to  hide  thereself  &  I  am  keeping  them  from  a  long  time  with  zero  problem.  Smile

 @suraj
 clown  loaches  are  among  the  few  fish  that  are  universally  regarded  as  good  tankmates  for  discus.  they  are  wholly  compatible.  as  for  clown  loaches  being  nocturnal  -  i  havent  seen  my  clowns  doing  too  much  after  dark  though  they  are  very  active  during  the  day.

 Though  32  C  is  fine  for  Discus  and  is  usually  used  when  you  are  medicating  them,  on  a  normal  day  they  will  be  just  fine  at  around  30C  as  well.
 Also,  at  30  C,  you  will  find  a  wider  range  of  compatible  mates  for  Discus,  may  it  be  fishes  or  plants.

 regards,
 Bhargav

 Clown  loaches  are  active  at  night.  During  the  day  time,  they  mostly  stay  near  the  filter  outlet,  but  at  night  one  the  lights  are  out,  I  see  them  cruising  all  over  the  tank.  I  never  see  them  eat  during  the  day  time,  at  night  I  leave  an  algae  disc  which  is  finished  when  I  wake  up  in  the  morning.  The  discus  got  spooked  at  night  when  I  initially  intoduced  the  clowns,  but  now  they  don't  seem  to  mind.
