 Hi

Nice  setup,  liked  the  driftwood!  good  choice  on  that.  Just  a  few  things  it  always  helps  to  know  all  details  of  the  tank  if  you  can  just  let  us  know  of  the  lights,  co2,  filtration  etc  also  fauna  and  flora.

The  substrate  height  looks  too  much  for  the  tank,  may  be  you  could  try  and  bring  it  down  to  2-  2.5  inches  in  the  front  and  arround  4-5  inches  at  the  back,  the  reason  for  this  is  usually  the  foreground  plants  are  small  rooters  so  you  want  them  to  get  acsess  to  the  laterite  in  the  bottom.  Secondly  the  slope  always  helps  to  create  depth  in  the  tank  also  the  plants  stand  out  better  this  way  in  the  aquascape.

 All  the  best  !!!!

 Regards
   Harshal

 Hi  Rohan,

Welcome  to  IAH.  Add  your  location  to  the  profile  and  your  name  in  the  signature.

It  looks  good.  But  your  ferns  are  planted  wrong.  Your  ferns  should  not  be  buried  in  the  gravel,  the  rhizome  should  be  above  gravel  or  it  will  rot.  Ferns  do  best  when  tied  to  driftwood.

Harshal's  comments  on  the  gravel  are  right.  Too  much  ..  spoils  the  look.
Hey  Harshal,  how  did  you  miss  the  ferns?  Smile

Yes  Rohan,  Since  this  is  a  new  setup,  easy  to  do.  Have  about  2"  of  gravel  in  the  front  sloping  off  to  3"  at  the  back.  This  should  be  sufficient.

 Hey  Thomas,

Are  you  sure  these  are  fossilied  rocks  ?  These  are  called  woodrocks  here  (although  not  sure  about  what  the  real  name  is)  and  tons  of  it  are  sold  in  Kolathur  and  various  LFS.

Let  me  do  some  search  on  these  and  find  out.

 Thanks  for  pointing  out.
