Thanks  Channidae  Thumb Up  ,  yeah  the  Biodiversity  in  even  a  single  pond  is  amazing.  There  was  one  another  bigger  channa  species  in  that  pond  and  more  barbs  and  loaches.  I  feel  even  if  it  is  not  always  possible  to  travel  long  distances  to  collect  fishes  from  a  particular  habitat  we  can  always  try  and  see  what  species  are  present  locally.  There  are  many  freshwater  and  Brackish  water  bodies  in  and  around  pondy.  While  time  permits  i  would  like  to  try  and  check  what  species  are  available  here.  It  is  also  great  fun.

Really?  Not  to  go  off  topic  here  but  is  there  a  scientific  name  for  the  drape  fin  barb  that  you  mention?  On  most  sites  on  the  net  they  mention   drape  fin  barbs  synonymously  with  Oreichthys  cosuatis

Feel  your  pain  man.  Is  it  that  difficult  to  get  where  you  are  at?

 Hi  Ram,

Thanks  a  lot  for  sharing  your  experiences  &  Photo  ...   Clapping
Good  to  see  many  hobbysts  interested  in  native  species  ...  Try  to  breed  some  of  the  ones  you  have  got..  and  release  them  back  to  wil  or  distrubute  among  other  hobbysts     Thumb Up

May  be  I  could  also  join  you  on  your  next  collection  trip..

 Regards
 Prasoon
