Does anyone know where i can source a couple of 20,000K 150W metal halide lamps from? None of the local electrical shops seem to know about the kelvin rating. Im based out of Kerala by the way.

I guess Madan would have a couple of them with him but, he is sailing so probably you would have to wait for a month or more for him to return.
Don't waste your time at the electrical stores as they will normally not stock such MH bulbs as they are not in constant demand. PM me if you need any assistance on acquiring the bulb - The kind of bulb you mention is available in the trade (labelled as an aquarium light - hence overpriced) but, the ones for industrial use do come along the only handicap is the quantum of order which is mostly too large for even a couple of dealers to invest in........I just got a tubelight (chinese made) which is of 50% less price than the standard coral blue lamps and am still exploring newer horizons let me know if you need any further assistance. |

Yup i did make a downpayment for the MH lamps to Rocky. Hope to get them by next week.
Yeah found out that the local electrical shops know nothing about Kelvin ratings. I even called up Philips and Osram and they didnt have MH Lamps with a rating over 6500K

| Well its been two weeks since i paid Rocky but no signs of the metal halides yet other than for his assurance that he has couriered them. Has anyone here ever bought anything from DJ Rocky before? |

| Hmm well he told me he shipped it on the 5th of Feb and gave me a docket number for the same which turned out to be false as per DTDC Kottayam office. |

The docket number was given by the courier company only & there was some problem from their side, not from mine as I already cleared out the things over phone. 
And I get all my receipt copy once in 15-20 days when I go to DTDC office to make payments for all shipped materials.

Jacob , there just no need to worry as far as rocky is concerned. I am sure you would get your MH soon.I have dealt with him quite a few times. I dont mind getting my stuff late if its genuine. some times shipment gets delayed. |

Well i dont think there is anything to blame rocky on. I am sure its a courier company screw up i have not had pleasant experiences from DTDC myself. Although i havent bought anything from rocky but spoken to him a few times and sound a genuine person. Infact I was gonna order some bulbs from him and he did tell me its difficult to ship them cause they end up getting broken.

I would honestly suggest you use Bluedart ( I am not a bluedart agent) for fragile items as we spoke on the fone. Its a little expensive on shipping however i have never had anything broken from them ever !! .. Just pack it well and mark the packet as fragile. I guess they have better handling skills than most other courier vendors. I have ordered bulbs, tubes and even Flower Vazes etc and never had even a scratch on any of them. But they are steep on their prices !!! |
