 Great  effort  !
 Can  you  post  another  view  with  the  tubes?
 Do  you  have  the  tubes  fitted  on  the  flap  which  opens  ?

 @Ginish

         Nice  job  man.  what  wood  did  you  use??  thickness?
 Try  painting  the  inside  of  the  tank  with  white  paint  and  see  the  brightness  of  your  tank  increase.

 @ilango
 Great  idea!  Painting  on  a  reflector!

 @ginish
 try  aluminium  foil  in  case  you  cant  paint  the  inside.

 Silver  is  a  good  reflector  when  it  is  highly  polished  and  it  is  difficult  to  get  that  finish  in  wood,  white  on  the  other  hand  does  a  good  job  at  a  reasonable  price.  Make  sure  the  paint  is  completely  dry  before  you  put  it  back  on  the  aquarium.

 @ggnish

 You  also  get  Aluminium  paint  in  Hi  Gloss.  However  you  will  first  need  to  primer  the  wood  before  painting  it  to  get  that  smooth  finish.

 I  would  also  suggest  getting  some  think  mirror  glass  cut  in  shapes  and  sizez  with  holes  drilled  at  the  end  and  since  its  wood  you  can  scew  the  glass  in  it.  The  offers  a  very  high  reflection  ability  and  much  more  stable  than  a  foil.

 i  agree  with  the  white  paint.  i  have  white  paint  in  my  planted  tank  hood.  does  the  job  brilliantly.  put  a  couple  of  coats  of  primer  before  you  paint  it  white.  then  do  min.  double  coat  of  white  paint.  ensure  that  it  is  completely  dry.
