 @DJ

 I  was  refering  to  Blue  Dart  ...  cause  blue  dart  ships  through  their  own  plane  and  ground  handling.  I  am  sure  it  doesnt  work  for  any  other  courier  service  except  blue  dart  and  aramex  and  i  have  personal  experience  on  it.

 As  far  as  visiting  the  airport  is  concerned  i  think  i  have  been  doing  that  since  my  childhood.  Dad  works  for  cargo  with  AAI.  So  proly  have  seen  cargo  handling  since  the  time  i  was  born  27yrs  back.   Thumb Up

 I  can  vouch  for  Blue  dart  simply  for  the  fact  i  have  heard  it  from  the  horses  mouth  in  the  way  they  handle  their  cargo.  Its  not  perfect  but  definitely  superior  to  any  other  courier  verndor  in  this  counrty  apart  from  Aramex.  These  2  vendors  are  known  for  their  handling  and  it  is  the  best  industry  can  offer  in  india.

 @rocky

 Buddy  nothing  personal  against  you  being  the  shipper  on  this  product.  My  comments  were  in  general  reference  to  anyone  who  is  the  shipper.  Sorry  if  i  made  it  sound  that  way.

 @nature

 Could  you  post  the  details  of  your  conversation  with  the  Bluedart  manager.  Not  in  terms  of  your  deal,  but  their  handling  procedures  etc  especialy  in  terms  of  fragile  items.

 I  think  this  info  will  benifit  the  buyers  and  the  vendors  as  the  buyers  would  understand  that  the  price  they  pay  for  shipments  even  though  is  hight  its  well  worth  it.  Less  headaches  ,  money  well  spent,  good  reputation  for  all.

 As  much  as  it  is  important  for  the  vendor  to  have  a  good  reputation  it  is  equally  important  for  the  buyer  to  have  a  good  reputation  as  well.  To  learn  from  the  vendor  and  use  suggested  techniques  as  it  is  their  day  to  day  job  and  its  best  left  to  the  experts.  I  am  sure  no  vendor  likes  fussy  buyers  who  like  to  cut  cost  at  all  angles  and  then  when  the  shipment  turns  out  to  be  broken  they  would  blame  the  vendor  for  either  not  packing  it  correctly  or  not  using  the  right  courier  vendor.

 Overall  it  is  the  responsibility  of  both  parties  and  healthy  relationships  flourish....

 I  remember  Brojo  also  tell  me  that  he  got  a  Eheim  2217  from  Aquazona  which  arrived  damaged...nonetheless...no  refund  ofr  change  was  made...Rocky  i  think  you  have  been  kind  enough  to  ship  out  a  replacement...i  aslo  know  how  courier  companies  in  india  operate..i  have  9  years  experience...with  due  respect  to  all...rocky  you  should  work  on  better  logistic  partners...and  stop  sending  our  replacements....you  will  kill  your  business  that  way

 I  think  i  would  agree  with  vidul  there.  If  a  buyer  is  unwiling  to  pay  for  better  logistics  i  dont  think  the  LFS  should  be  responsible  for  replacements.  I  completely  understand  if  an  Eheim  is  broken  in  shipment  i  dont  think  any  one  would  provide  a  replacement  considering  their  high  pricing.  Also  the  eheim  comes  in  a  box  pack  which  is  quiet  stable  in  terms  of  handling  basic  shipping  stress.  This  must  be  definitely  one  of  the  worst  handling  logistic  companies.

 Hi  all,

 The  conversation  with  the  manager  was  pretty  short  considering  the  fact  that  he  was  in  a  hurry.  But  then  it  did  help.  Although  BlueDart  today  is  probably  the  most  expensive,  I  think  they  are  most  reliable.

 I  spoke  to  him  about  the  movement  of  fragile  goods  and  he  did  say  that  accidents  do  occur  as  they  are  all  moved  in  bags.  However,  they  do  have  a  negligible  amount  of  mishaps  occurring.  I  gave  him  complete  details  as  to  how  our  network  is,  including  showing  him  this  conversation  on  IAH,  and  why  it  was  critical  that  we  need  safe  shipping.

 They  still  refuse  to  take  fish  consignments  but  I  am  still  trying  to  negotiate  with  them.  Let's  see  if  that  works  out.

 For  customers,  I  think  the  costs  will  even  out  if  you  notice  that  when  we  need  to  send  stuff  by  bus,  it  involves  a  journey  of  5-15  kms  in  city  traffic  for  us  to  send  the  parcel,  about  30-45  minutes  to  book  a  parcel  and  another  drive  back  here.  All  in  all,  we  lose  about  2  hours  of  business.  (For  a  guy  like  me  or  Rocky  -  who  do  most  of  the  business  themselves).  Added  to  that,  you  need  to  be  at  the  travels  office  to  collect  the  parcel  which  in  all  probability  would  mean  another  2  hours  to  you.

 In  total,  it  is  about  4  hours  of  work  lost  plus  the  tension  of  traffic.  I  personally  feel  couriers  are  much  better  for  their  door-to-door  service.  And  BlueDart  is  definitely  the  pick  of  the  lot.  The  extra  money  given  to  them  ensures  safe  and  timely  delivery.

 Dear  Rocky
 I  would  be  more  than  grateful  if  you  will  send  me  a  20000K  MH  lamp,  which  is  what  i  ordered  in  the  first  place.  I  will  send  back  the  10000K  lamp  back  to  you  since  i  have  no  use  for  it.  If  you  didnt  have  stock  of  the  20000K  lamp  you  just  needed  to  inform  me  the  same  instead  of  sending  me  something  else.
 And  as  mentioned  before  i  dont  think  anyone  would  mind  paying  a  little  more  as  courier  charges  provided  we  are  assured  of  getting  our  material  in  perfect  condition.
 Cheers
 Philip

 Hey  Phillip,

 I  think  Rocky  sent  it  to  you  by  oversight.  If  it  was  an  8K  halide,  I  would  have  picked  it  up.  Coimbatore  is  much  closer  to  Kottayam  than  Kolkata.   Very Happy   Thumbs Up   10K  is  an  overkill  for  a  planted  tank.

 Hi  Philip,

 as  I  said  earlier  also  that  I  was  on  small  tours  for  the  entire  month.  The  mistake  was  happen  by  my  yourger  brother  who  sent  a  20k  bulb  to  a  different  city  instead  of  10k.

 The  party  didnt  informed  me  anything  about  that  because  he  wanted  the  bulb  for  his  marine  tank.  Now  he  is  using  20k  bulb  instead  of  10k.  Now  he  is  much  happier  with  20K  bulb.

 as  per  honesty  is  concerned,  i  bet  there  is  no  compromise  as  per  Ashoke  of  waterworldindia  ,  and  Rocky  of  aquariums  india  is  concerened,you  can  trust  both  of  them  completely....in  fact  Rocky  is  considered  as  king  of  dry  aquarium  stock,  in  and  around  kolkata,  while  Ashoke  for  livestock.....I  being  a  hobbist  ...trust  me  on  that...  Rock On
