I  got  2  and  have  kept  them  in  seperate  tanks.  One  is  a  BB  tank  and  other  with  substrate.  One  has  burried  with  only  the  eyes  peeping  out  and  the  other  jumped  out,  fortunately  into  another  tank.  :  )  Both  fed  well  on  live  tubifex  and  Tilapia  fry.

The  bite  is  painful.  Be  aware.

Never  ever  keep  Chaudharia  caudata  in  a  BB  tank.  They  won't  survive.  In  nature,  they  used  to  burrie  themselvs  into  mud  at  the  bottom  of  the  pond.  And  very  hard  to  catch  them  as  they  never  comes  up  to  top.

Just  for  the  sake  of  temporary  learning  of  their  likes  and  dislikes..  Smile

BTW,  one  in  the  BB  tank,  tub  actually,  did  even  feast  on  Tilapia  fry.  The  lower  jaw  is  a  thick  and  powerful  meat  ripper.

@PC,  i  hope  you  don't  have  small  fish  in  your  tank,  where  in  you  introduced  the  eel.

no  shankar  my  fish  can  take  care  of  themselves.  its  the  shrimplets  i  am  worried-  got  atleast  5  native  sp.  in  there.

However,  in  a  thickly  planted  tank  atleast  a  few  should  survive....

I  did  hear  that  they  keep  away  from  shrimps  and  small  fish  and  stick  to  worms.

Anyway  I  cant  do  anything  but  live  with  it.  I  havent  seen  them  since  i  put  them  in  and  no  way  can  i  catch  them  in  the  tank  now  :-)
