 Jaguars  are  extremely  aggressive  fishes,  so  try  to  keep  only  jaguars  with  a  jaguar.   Smile

 You  can  probably  keep  other  fish  if  the  jaguars  aren't  mating.
 But  if  they  decide  to  mate,  you  might  just  wake  up  one  morning  to  a  tankful  of  dead  fish.
 Or  you  can  use  a  partition,
 Or  buy  a  smaller  tank.

 Jaguars  grow  pretty  large  btw,  the  tank  wont  seem  that  empty  one  year  down  the  line.

 Dear  Diwan
 Pleco  can  be  a  choice  but  not  sure  what  will  happen  during  breeding  season.

 @psimhan

 @Kaushik

    Earlier  they  were  housed  in  200L  tank  along  with  Red  Severums  and  cats.The  tank  was  partitoned  and  the  aestetic  look  was  missing,this  was  the  reason  for  me  to  go  for  the  big  tank  which  I  wanted  as  the  main  display  tank.Even  in  the  present  tank  they  go  for  each  others  gills  (ooops  throat)  at  every  oppurtunity.Folks  in  my  place  want  to  enjoy  a  lively  aquarium.It  appears  that  I  may  have  to  part  with  the  jags.  Sad

 One  best  way  to  make  your  tank  a  lively  one  is  to  have  Tinfoil  Barbs,  maybe  2  to  3  of  them,  they  grow  large  and  are  quite  hyper  active,  can  be  mixed  well  with  most  big  cichlids.

 Cheers

 Ravi  as  suggested  by  you  I  have  introduced  two  3  inches  Tinfoils  barbs  into  my  Jags  tank  on  27-4-08.So  far  they  are  getting  along  well.Planning  to  introduce  more  today.  Also  happened  to  see  a  4inchRed  Devil  with  Orange  marking  on  its  body,is  it  a  pure  strain?  Let  me  know  if  it  is  worth  picking  it  up  (provided  if  it  is  still  there).

 Give  off  the  Jaguars  and  buy  some  peaceful  fishes  !  If  you  really  wish  to  keep  'em,  you  can  only  keep  Jaguars  and  two  jaguars  and  nothing  else.  I  personally  hate  jaguars...

 and  diwan  i  tried  keeping  my  10  "flower  horn  with  the  Jags,  they  were  really  aggressive...so  i  would  recommmed  u  let  them  stay  together   and  in  private  and  let  them  breed  and  have  fun....  i  have  a  breeding  pair  of  jags  and  they  are  in  4  x  2  x  2  ..u  know  the  whole  tank  to  themselves..with  drift  woods  and  all..they  would  really  like  it..

 Hi  Dini,  there  is  nothing  called  as  pure  strain  that  you  get  these  days  in  the  LFS,  if  you  plan  on  getting  a  devil  they  are  a  good  combo  with  the  Jags  but  i  personally  feel  that  a  4"  fish  would  not  stand  a  chance  against  2  Jags.  You  can  maybe  growit  out  a  little  bit  and  then  introduce  it  into  the  Jag  tank...   Thumb Up

 Introducing  the  Tinfoils  is  a  good  idea,  feed  them  blanched  palak  /  boiled  peas  /  pellets..they  grow  quick  and  in  no  time  you  will  have  a  good  8-10"  barb.

 Cheers
 Ravi

 Ravi-
 Navneeth-

 Like  I  had  mentioned  in  my  previous  post  I  could'nt  resist  buying  the  Red  Devil.Now  jags  have  8  Tin  Foils  and  the  Red  Devil  for  company.The  Devil  has  already  begun  to  taunt  the  Jags.Will  post  the  image  either  today  or  tomorow.For  once  the  tank  has  become  lively.Thanks  for  the  suggestion.

 Neel  I  have  been  raising  the  Jags  since  they  were  juvies  and  they  are  the  reason  for  me  to  go  for  the  5  footer.

 Regards
