Man,  why  is  Suheil  Saab  not  going  for  the  AGA  contest?  Suhiel  Saab,  pls.  We  should  see  your  tank  at  the  international  stage.

Well  it  is  not  easy  to  photograph  a  6  feet  tank  for  a  competition  with  just  aquarium  lights,  you  need  a  number  of  additional  tripod  mounted  flash,  to  use  a  very  small  aperture  and  high  shutter  speed,  low  ISO.  You  need  high  DOF  for  a  competition.

Moving  the  tank  is  out  of  question  for  photographing,  so  due  to  lack  of  space  you  cannot  use  multiple  flash.  There  are  a  number  of  constraints  in  photographing  a  tank,  and  all  these  have  to  be  taken  into  account  at  setup,  which  is  not  possible  in  many  homes.

Here  are  a  few  more  pictures.

There  are  two  feeding  rings.  One  for  cardinals  and  the  other  for  the  discus.

Reason  the  Cardinals  do  not  move  to  one  end  of  tank,  they  have  their  space  and  remain  there.

Secondly  food  that  gets  into  the  glosso  carpet,  creates  havoc,  and  that  in  between  the  hair  grass  is  equally  bad,  though  the  shrimps  can  find  food  with  difficulty  amongst  the  hair  grass.

Uttam  too  has  discus  in  his  planted  tanks.  1  male  7"  and  2  females,  they  have  paired  up  and  laying  for  all  I  know.  The  trick  these  guys  used  was  to  introduce  the  discus  9-12  months  after  setup  when  the  tank  is  more  or  less  stable,  but  the  discus  do  get  stressed  with  dosing  etc.,  see  the  dark  colors.

These  adult  discus  will  be  replaced  by  juveniles  now,  so  that  they  can  adjust  to  the  water  parameter  vagaries  due  to  dosing.

That  glosso  carpet  has  to  be  removed  every  three  months,  95%  discarded  and  5%  replanted  again,  then  wait  for  it  to  grow  all  over  again.

Delay  the  procedure  and  the  bottom  will  rot,  and  the  whole  glosso  carpet  will  float  up.
