Looks  like  the  stripped  green  severum  to  me,  maybe  the  redheaded  or  rotkeil  variety  (not  sure  though).  They  are  looking  good.   Thumb Up

 Hi  guys,

It  is  not  the  green  severum  for  sure.  It  is  the  redhead  one.  Also  called  as  Heros  sp.  "rotkeil".

More  photos  of  the  new  additions  to  follow  soon.  The  photos  that  i  took  of  them  did  not  come  properly.  so  have  to  take  it  again.

 Regards,

 Sridhar.  P

I  got  it  right  Sridharp77   Cheering  ,  its  too  obvious  that  you  would  not  post  a  pic  of  the  common  severum  available  in  LFS  after  posting  your  Altums  here   Very Happy

All  the  best  on  these  guys,  please  PM  me  on  how  much  you  payed  from  them.

 Ravi,

These  are  not  available  in  the  LFS  in  India  (  Not  sure  if  they  are).  They  came  from  singapore  through  Adip.  Check  with  him  for  the  availability  although  i  took  all  of  them  that  he  bought  this  time  around.  Total  6nos.  More  info  about  them  please  visit  this  page.

Sridhar  dude,  i  know  THESE  are  not  available  in  LFS,  what  i  meant  to  say  is  you  would  NOT  post  a  pic  of  the  common  severum  asking  what  they  are   Smile  .  I  am  damn  sure  the  man  behind  these  excotics  are  none  other  than  our  fish  god  Adip.

These  are  Green  Severum  for  sure..  I  used  to  have  6  of  those..  Severums  are  available  with  one  of  my  LFS..  I  take  most  of  my  fishes  from  him  at  half  rates..  He  is  a  breeder  of  Cichlids,  Guppies  etc..  So  i  get  all  at  a  very  lucrative  rates  Very Happy

3  yrs  ago  when  i  bought  6  of  those  severums,  i  had  paid  only  Rs.  75  for  all..

Sidhartha,  these  ARE  German  bred  Rotkeil  juvies.  Have  travelled  a  long  way  around  the  world,  before  reaching  Sridhar.  I've  heard  they  retail  almost  70  Euros!   Surprised

70  Euros?  Perhaps  for  wild  caught  adults.  And  most  of  that  is  shipping  cost.  2-3"  tank  raised  fish  cost  around  $10  (6-7  euros).

Absolutely  it  is  the  shipping  cost  that  makes  the  price  two  to  three  time  more  than  the  actual  cost  or  sometimes  even  more  as  we  have  to  smuggle  it  into  our  country.

 Shankar,

Were  are  you  planning  to  get  the  wild  rams  from.  I  would  be  interested  in  it.  Let  me  know  about  them.

Never  planned  really.  And  that  was  some  3  months  back.  Can  try  for  F1  imports  into  the  SE.  Cant  really  guarantee  though,  as  Adipa  would  siphon  them  all  if  they  reach  Sg.   :  )

 Shankar,

I  would  be  really  interested  in  them.  I  am  also  trying  hard  with  Adipa  and  so  far  he  is  not  able  to  lay  hands  on  any  of  them.  If  you  could  get  the  F1  then  that  would  be  really  great.  Please  do  let  me  know  in  case  you  have  a  chance  to  get  them.
