 DJ,

can  you  let  me  know  why  you  term  this  as  World  Class?   Have  you  used  any  special  equipment  or  process?   Please  do  enlighten.

 Good  pics  though.

Do  not  worry  Rocky.  Its  the  "men  and  intention"  of  the  organizers  of  the  event  that  are  truly  world  class.
No  one  will  ever  get  world  class  if  he  thinks  "local".
Many  of  the  inputs  are  standard  world  class  products.  Thumb Up

 Hello  Sir,

As  I  said  in  my  earlier  post  ...  "I  am  failed  to  deliver  what  I  said,  WORLD  CLASS,  even  after  using  all  world  class  equips  etc."

The  products  were  used  in  to  make  such  tanks  are  not  local  or  Chinese  ones.  They  all  are  branded.  i.e  :

 -  Fertilizers  &  Substrate  :  PRODAC  International,  Itaty
 -  Filters  &  Lights  :  AQUAEL,  Poland
 -  CO2  Equipments  :  RAINBOW  Industry,  Singapore  &  NISSO,  Japan
 -  Plants  :  White  Crane  Aquarium,  Thailand
 -  Tools  :  MSI,  Singapore

We  dont  have  such  working  team  as  Banglore  or  you  guys  are  having.  There  was  only  one  experienced  planted  hobbyist  present  on  that  day  &  he  was  Rana.
And  these  all  are  my  first  ever  planted  tanks  &  still  today  I  dont  know  much  about  it,  even  I  dont  the  name  of  all  plants  which  are  used  in  those  setups,  Still  learning  &  a  long  way  to  go.

The  pics  are  not  cleared  like  1st  tank  because  of  we  dont  get  enough  water  supply  from  our  municipal  co-orporation.  We  have  to  buy  water  from  out  side  for  water  changing  purpose  &  our  bore  well  water  is  very  hard.  The  TDS  reading  is  3800.

PRODAC  Humus  &  Humus  Plus  requires  huge  water  changes  (50%  daily)  for  first  10-12  days  to  keep  tank  water  clear  otherwise  the  water  become  dark  like  those  tanks.
Changing  150  liters  of  water  every  day  is  not  possible  if  there  is  no  proper  water  supply.

 -----------------------

I  am  very  much  disappointed  by  my  own  comments..  But  the  spirit  is  not  over  yet
I  will  make  these  all  tanks  as  WORLD  CLASS  SETUPS  &  I  mean  it.

 HI  Rocky

Sorry  to  hear  about  your  loss.  But  don't  worry  think  of  this  as  an  investment,  I  am  sure  with  your  dedication  and  hardwork  things  have  to  only  work  in  your  favour.
Trust  me  when  I  say  this  I  can  understand  the  words  "  water  sortage"  I  am  facing  a  very  similar  problem  at  home,  for  over  4  months  now,  and  I  have  only  2  tanks  to  take  care  of,  that  itself  is  a  regular  challange.
So  hang  in  there  am  sure  things  will  trun  arround  soon.

 Best  Wishes  and  Regards
    Harshal.

 Good  try,  Rocky!!
You  can  still  improve  upon  the  existing  tanks  to  get  them  to  a  very  high  standard.
The  first  planted  tank  is  pretty  good  by  any  standards,  and  by  only  following  some  of  the  suggestions   by  other  members  you  can  take  it  to  a  new  level.

 Hi  Rocky:

All  planted  setup  has  to  go  through  the  algae  process.  The  problem  in  your  tank  is  there  are  very  few  fast  growing  plants.  Please  add  a  few  fast  growing  plants  Reduce  volume  of  water  change  and  increase  the  frequency.  Start  dosing  macros  and  check  Co2  levels.  Hair  algae  generally  thrive  well  in  tanks  that  have  low  Co2  levels.  You  should  do  fine  in  a  week.

Appreciate  all  the  effort  ....  but  World  Class  ....  hmmm  ..

I  bumped  into  this  link  while  i  was  researching  for  my  planted  and  i  am  fairly  new  to  it.  But  some  basics  i  thought  were  missing  or  incorrect  and  would  like  the  experts  to  advice.

However  most  equipment  i  saw  in  the  high  tech  tank  looked  Chinese.  I  am  not  sure  when  do  we  start  defining  chinese  as  world  class.

I  am  not  sure  since  when  did  Prodac  products  become  world  class.  You  cannot  define  them  to  be  that  way  just  cause  u  either  sell  it  or  like  it.  There  are  many  better  german  (  Sera  )  ,  US  products  (seachem)  in  the  market  which  outclass  Prodac  in  performance  and  price.

I  saw  a  surface  extractor  in  a  planted  tank.  This  should  create  Surface  agitation  and  not  sure  how  good  it  is  for  Co2.

Also  in  a  world  class  tank  i  would  look  forward  to  see  some  exotic  plants  which  are  unique  and  not  available  anywhere  or  rarely  visible  atleast  in  india.  I  would  want  to  see  something  big  and  big  is  understated...  I  think  these  points  were  missed  as  well..

I  think  the  cat  ran  away  here  and  spilled  a  whole  lot  of  beans.

Rocky  my  friend  i  am  sorry  to  say  this  but  seems  like  u  havent  delivered  once  again  as  promised.

 Why  am  i  not  supprised.

I  am  also  supprised  with  the  reactions.  I  understand  we  all  appreciate  the  effort  and  time  put  in.  But  an  exagerated  effort  displayed  dosent  mean  a  well  done  effort.  I  think  as  advisors  we  should  give  black  and  white  advice.  No  room  Sugar  coating  things.

Lastly  I  mean  no  offense  to  the  team  that  set  it  up.  May  be  its  the  exageration  of  the  event  that  killed  the  rat  and  not  the  cat.

My  Question  to  the  experts  is  would  they  recommend  a  similar  setup  to  someone  who  plans  to  setup  a  "WORLD  CLASS"  planted  tank  in  his  or  her  home  !!!

 NO!

I  would  say  read  up,  setup  up  atleast  one  tank  all  by  yourself  and  run  it  atleast  for  a  year.  Use  all  the  products  you  will,  see  what  succeeds  and  what  does  not.

Don't  blindly  go  with  what's  printed  on  the  box.

 Sorry!  Truth  hurts.

 @madan

I  dont  think  in  a  forum  one  should  be  sorry  if  its  the  Truth.

We  are  all  here  to  understand  and  learn  the  hobby  better  from  the  experts.  It  hurts  more  to  follow  something  incorrect  and  then  loose  heart  over  the  fact,  that  had  u  not  followed  it  in  the  first  place  and  were  not  mislead.
