I  don't  think  that  you  should  quit  fish  keeping
But  you  should  get  a  good  stand  for  your  tank,  and  then  go  on  taking  care  of  your  fish  in  your  own  special  ways   Smile

hi  unni...  thanks  for  the  encouragement..  god  bless

 yes  the  hardware  is  ok...

the  bend  in  the  centre  is  made-over  by  placin  a  vertical  flat  beam  to  support  the  tank  base..logically  there  will  never  be  a  fix  weight  in  the  whole  volume...  but  its  the  tank  gluing  geometry  which  failed...

 Precy,
your  stand  is  the  curlprit,  it  is  sagging  in  the  middle.
Over  a  period  stress  will  be  built,  and  one  of  the  pans  will  crack.
Pls  don't  place  another  tank  on  this  stand.
I  don't  think  gluing  of  tank  is  the  main  curlprit.

Stand  looks  like  the  culprit.  Also  i  would  remove  the  PC  from  there  and  the  table.  SO  that  when  you  are  cleaning  etc  its  a  whole  lot  easier  ,  +  u  might  be  able  to  get  in  a  smaller  tank  there   Chuckle

Dont  Quit  ...  think  about  the  goldies  in  the  tank  ....  they  need  their  house  back...

Cheers  and  all  the  very  best

Hi  Sandeepbhai,  thanks  for  the  advise,  I  will  remove  the  stand  and  make  a  new  one  just  like  T2  has  constructed...

But  slotted  angles  are  supposed  to  be  the  best  stand  makers,  arent  they?  well  guys  i'll  do  as  you  say...

Slotted  angles  might  make  the  best  stand  makers,  but  what  people  here  are  suggesting  is  to  have  support  in  the  middle.  for  tanks  4'  and  longer  the  strain  on  the  bars  are  more  than  allowable,  the  glass  will  crack  sooner  or  later  (unless  you  want  to  build  your  stand  from  railway  rails,  now  that  might  work.  But  what  about  the  folks  below  then  Wink  ).

 Hey  All,

I  found  it....  if  you  all  can  observe  very  carefully....  see  the  bottom  right  front  corner  (below)...

Now  see  the  left  bottom  front  corner...

there  is  one  more  "lop"  which  actually  created  a  twist  cubically  and  cracked  the  top  end  of  the  rear  pane..  since  the  pane  broke  from  the  top  end  the  leverage  went  straight  down  to  the  bottom  left  corner  of  the  rear  pane....(torque  effect  because  of  the  twist)

 thats  what  I  have  discovered...

its  not  the  stand...  because  the  stand  has  a  flat  support  in  the  centre  also...

Okay  so  its  not  the  sagging  stand
Go  ahead  and  put  the  next  tank  on  the  same  stand.
I  wish  you  luck,  you  are  going  to  need  it

 Percy,

I  clicked  on  "Quit"  .  All  fish  will  bless  you.  Because  you  are  only  one, who  use  detergent,  wash  fish  etc.

I  hope,  you  have  not  expermient  your  tank  with  some  acidic  chemicals  to  strengthen  it(and  ultimately  broken)

Boooohooooo  booooohoooooo  hooooo  hoooo  hooooo  uhah  uhah  uhaaaaaaaaaaa  Sad   Sad   Sad

 I  will,   I  will,

But  friends,  I  have  found  the  remedy  while  the  "disaster  is  actually  on(real  time)"....

I  have  tried  it  on  the  same  tank  with  water.  I  took  a  rope  and  tied  it  around  the  tank  in  the  centre.

 This  instantly  compressed  the  crack.

Then  I  applied  from  outside,  mseal  on  the  bottom  edge  till  half  tank  and  on  the  top  side  of  the  crack,  I  applied  some  "wet  clay  (greasy  laambi)",  on  that  clay,  I  applied  cement.  this  stopped  the  water  for  3  hrs...  But  the  mseal  remained  without  leakage  for  more  time.  Now  remember,  it  will  take  some  time  for  the  material  to  dry,  but  it  will  slow  down  the  water  flow,  and  it  may  atleast  give  some  time  to  save  the  situation  temporarily

Why  the  2  types  of  remedy?

Because  some  can  afford  mseal  some  can  not,  and  keeping  this  stuff  at  home  for  an  emergency  is  not  bad...
