 Alright,  alright!

 The  dung  mania  is  manifesting  again.

 FYI,  we  in  IAH  have  tried  all  sorts  of  dungs,  even  Dino  dung  and  Constipated  Tusker(male  elephant)  in  Mast  dung.
 Don't  believe  me?  Here  is  a  link......

 We  are  truly  the  adventurous  sort.

 Regards,

Shiv,

 Nice  meeting  you  too.

 I  do  not  see  any  out  of  ordinary  growth.  The  same  can  be  achieved  using  plain  red  soil  with  out  any  risk  of  Ammonia  or  Nitrite  spikes  that  might  be  caused  by  the  decaying  manure  coming  in  contact  with  the  water  column.

 My  examples...With  plain  slurry  of  Laterite  and  river  sand,  covered  with  another  layer  of  river  sand.

 And  I  have  merged  the  two  threads.

 Regards,

 Very  healthy  foliage.  Do  you  dose  the  water  with  micro  or  macros  or  is  it  all  from  the  substrate?

 Valluvar  must  try  sheep  manure  sometime.   Smile  A  crypt  grower  in  the  US  from  the  60s  supplied  plants  to  the  entire  American  hobbyist  circle,  rare  crypts  no  one  else  sold,  and  he  used  sheep  manure.  Forgetting  his  name....

 @Keluthi  thanks.
 I  have  not  used  fresh  goat  pellets,  only  aged  goat  manure.  this  is  basically  goat  shit  mixed  with  earth  and  other  garden  organics  and  composted  for  about  90  -  120  days  underground  (anerobic  decomp)
 While  i  have  been  successful  with  this  technique,  suggest  you  lead  a  ear  to  most  other  aquarists  who  strongly  recommend  against  this.

 @Romi
 When  i  say  Goat,  its  as  much  sheep  as  both  animals  are  raised  here  in  karnataka  and  it  tough  to  distinguish  goat  from  sheep  droppings,.  Apart  from  the  original  application  of  manure  below  the  substrate  no  other  applications  were  done.

 Good  one  nayak..
 And,  here's  another  link  to  a  thread,  from  which  I  got  the  idea  of  trying  the  cow  dung.

 For  the  record,  i  buy  the  goat  manure  or  take  some  from  my  Mom  which  she  uses  for  conventional  horticulture.  I  have  never  been  know  to  run  around  with  Aquila  sp  feathers  after  goats  to  tickle  their  posteriors,  as  Nayak,  so  delicately  puts  it  ;-)
