Congrats  to  Arnab  Roy!!  You  looke  like  you  did  some  serious  research  back  there.

I  am  still  disappointed  with  the  fish  though.   All  my  dreams  of  seeing  a  captive,  juvenile,  freshwater,  great  white  shark  living  in  a  coconut  shell  have  died.

Hi,  thanks  a  lot  for  the  prize..  I  actually  do  not  have  so  much  space  to  keep  all  the  fishes...  i  intend  to  keep  all  the  shrimps  plus  the  rainbow  fishes  along  with  the  anubias  nana..  if  anyone  wants  a  share  of  the  4  otoclinus  (as  I  already  have  an  oto  in  my  tank  and  it  will  be  impossible  for  me  to  find  place  for  them)  please  let  me  know.   I  will  be  more  than  happy  to  give  them  away  ...

 Regards

Well  done,  I  guess.  Ideally,  a  guess  should've  been  followed  up  with  reasons  why,  instead  of  carpet  bombing  the  thread  with  names  at  random.  No  harm  done,  I'm  just  picky  Razz

Fish  profiles  got  the  genus  wrong,  it  should  be  Phenablennius  heyligeri.  I'm  not  quite  sure  the  fish  is  wht  we  think  it  is,  though.  I  lean  towards  an  Omobranchus  species.

Well  you  are  right..  I  should  have  given  an  explanation  as  to  why  I  thought  it  was  Phenablennius  heyligeri.   There  are  very  few  species  of  blennies  which  are  "freshwater"  and  when  I  searched  for  them  it  came  down  to  Salaria  fluviatilis  and  Phenablennius  heyligeri..  I  also  was  confused  whether  or  not  it  was  Omobranchus  zebra...  The  other  reason  for  guessing  it  was  Phenablennius  heyligeri  was  because  of  that  coconut  shell  thing.   Since  this  fish  is  a  native  of  South  east  asia  where  you  find  coconut  trees  along  the  rivers  and  the  coastline  in  abundance..  so  it  is  very  likely  that  the  coconut  shell  dweller  should  come  from  one  of  these  places  like  Malaysia,  Thailand  or  Phillipines  rather  than  some  european  or  american  fish..  Jamaica  is  another  place  where  might  find  a  coconut  shell  dweller  but  I  dont  know  of  any  freshwater  blenny  in  Jamaica..

 Hi  Rahul

I  too  was  leaning  towards  Omobranchus.  But  that  was  until  I  compared  the  shape  of  the  mouth  of  the  fish  in  Trevor's  pic  with  the  one  depicted  as  P.  heyligeri.  Omobranchus  species  seem  to  have  very  different  faces.
