Nice  rocks!  But  I  feel  its  better  to  use  single  type  of  rocks  throughout  the  setup.

+1,  using  a  single  type  of  rocks  will  look  more  natural.  I  started  with  different  rocks  and  got  stuck  with  it  Sad

Fauna  is  Labidochromis  caeruleus  (Banana  cichlid),  Metriaclima  lombardoi  (Blue  morph),  Melanochromis  auratus

You  push  the  end  of  syphon  into  the  sand,  some  sand  will  get  in  with  water,  however  it  falls  down.
However  if  you  are  using  a  normal  pipe,  it  will  suck  out  the  sand,  use  a  gravel  siphon

 Sandeep,
 The  rock  is  nice...

Your  stocking  will  not  work  long  term  as  you  have  chosen  two  of  the  most  notorious  cichlids  out  there  and  put  them  together  in  a  3  feeter.  Be  ready  for  some  ugly  action  within  two  months  and  prepare  a  hospital  tank  right  now  so  that  you  can  move  them  when  reuired.

I  am  not  an  expert  and  I  have  never  kept  M.  auratus.  But  I  have  seen  my  friends  keeping  it  with  other  fishes  having  disastrous  results.  I  have  experience  with  M.  lombardoi  and  labs  (not  together  of  course)  though.

 Edited  to  correct  typos.

It  has  come  out  very  well.  But  watch  out  as  your  kenyii  and  auratus  mature.  They  will  start  knocking  out  your  labs.
