i  think  the  arowana  will  look  much  better  with  a  dark  background.  will  bring  out  its  colour  and  shine  more.  to  the  eye  and  also  for  photos  Very Happy
plain  dark  colours  or  some  textured  stuff  or  something  like  this  -  http://www.aquahobby.com/tanks/e_tank0902.php

or  maybe  its  just  me  Smile
i  like  dark  backgrounds  and  always  suggest  it  to  friends  and  also  the  light  blue  coloured  lights

 Maybe  its  just  you.  Wink
My  experience  with  dark  background  is  that  it  used  to  stress  my  previous  Silver  Arowana.
Seller  of  this  fish  (Admond  Tan)  specifically  advised  to  me  to  go  with  lighter  substrate  &  background.

can  you  plz  explain  the  terms-  scale  shine  level,  crossing(in  crossback)  etc  with  your  posted  pic.
 im  confused.
is  is  the  no  of  scales  counted  from  behind  the  gills  (  from  gill  towards  the  tail)  ?  well  this  doesnt  make  sense  as  the  entire  body  looks  shiny

or  is  it  the  no.  of  scales  from  the  dorsal  surface  to  the  ventral  surface  (  upper  to  lower  surface/as  in  depth  of  body)?

 and  crossbacking  ?

Level  count  starts  from  bottom(1L)  &  ends  at  topmost  scales  level  (6L).
Everything  looks  shiny  there  because  its  Golden  Crossback  juvenile.

Now  check  in  Raffles  aro  harvesting  video,  if  the  fella  have  shine  or  grey/black  scales  on  6th,  lol.  Chuckle

This  should  clear  all  your  doubts  about  scale  levels  (check  info  under  Aspects  of  the  Arowana).  Smile

 hi  yogesh
i  seriously  think  putting  a  dark  background  will  make  your  arowana  look  more  bright  and  colourful.  i  ve  seen  lots  of  pics  and  most  of  them  have  the  asian  arowanas  with  dark  backgrounds.  many  fish,  like  the  arowana,  will  change  colour(lighter  or  darker)  to  blend  into  the  environment  like  camoflauge.  even   the  cheap  asian  knifefish  (  it  evolved  from/descendant  of  the  arowana.  i  looked  it  up  Smile  )  i  got  recently,  which  was  almost  black,  turned  into  a  very  light  silver  colour,  over  a  few  days,   when  i  put  it  into  my  pure  white  tub.
it  doesnt  always  mean  they  r  stressed(  like  in  discus?).  its  just  blending  into  the  surroundings.  imo   Smile
just  try  a  dark  sheet  behind  the  aquarium  for  a  few  days  and  see  how  your  arowana  handles  it.

waiting  for  some  more  of  your  arowana  pics  Very Happy

i  cant  get  enough  of  the  gorgeous  asian  arowana   Rock On

 Hi  yogesh

Seems  to  be  you  got  the  best  one.  I  have  never  seen  a  Arowana  like  this  before,  seriously.  It  looks  awesome.  Where  did  you  get  it,  from  your  LFS.  Should  be  proud  of  it.
 Good  luck.

 Siddhu,

I  will  definitely  try  putting  black  poster  for  his  new  tank  for  few  days  &  observe  its  behaviour.  Every  aro  has  different  personality  &  who  knows,  he  may  like  the  new  surrounding.
So  when  you  are  getting  your  dragon,  huh?  Smile
