 Hi  Scapers,

I  am  not  happy  with  the  way  H.  tripatita  is  growing.
I  think  It  is  because  I  have  kept  them  at  the  low  light  area.  So  wanted  to  put  a  low  light  plant  at  their  position
I  was  planning  to  move  H.tripatita  little  up  hill,  right  under  the  place  where  my  diffuser  is  located  and  then  add  H.  pinnatifida  at  the  current  h.tripatita  place.
I  have  not  much  information  on  H.pinnatifida  but  from  the  discussion  with  hobbyist  they  say  I  can  trim  them  and  keep  them  8  inch  height.  Also  most  of  the  places  say  it  is  low  light.

So  the  question  is  how  would  it  look  and  what  are  the  requirements  to  this  plant.

 Please  let  me  know

 Regards,
 Jaiby

Pinnatifida  needs  high  light,  high  co2  and  high  ferts  to  do  well  otherwise  it  will  grow  leggy  with  long  leaves  that  disintegrate  very  soon  making  the  plant  look  bad  and  bare  towards  the  bottom.

Atleast  medium  light  but  high  CO2  and  ferts.

 Try  Lilaeopsis  or  HM  instead

Thank  you  Mortis....so  H.pinnatifada  is  not  a  good  choice  for  that  location.
My  problem  is  that  H.tripatita  has  some  brownish  color  on  its  stem  which  I  believe  is  due  to  the  low  Light.
It  is  growing  but  that  brownish  color  reduces  its  beauty  .

HM  is  already  in  a  different  position  in  my  tank  so  have  to  loose  that  option.
About  Lilaeopsis  brasiliensis,  aren't  they  short  plants?

Awesome  tank.  I  haven't  introduced  shrimps  into  my  3  feet  tank.  Planning  to  do  so.  Will  it  be  too  difficult  to  catch  them  once  they  are  in?
Mortis  :  read  that  H.pinnatifida  is  a  shady  plant  and  planted  it.  But  like  you  say,  it  has  completely  disintegrated.  Can  they  be  tied  to  driftwood?

 DRDHEEP:
Yes  It  will  be  tough  to  catch  them  all  back.  but  that  will  be  the  case  in  any  tank  as  there  will  be  always  shrimplets  which  is  a;most  impossibe  to  catch.

Mortis:  Thanks  a  lot  sir......You  are  the  only  person  who  is  replying   Clapping  .
BTW  crypts  I  cannot  add  as  I  already  had  problems  introducing  crypt  to  a  nubia  tank.  Crypts  while  getting  acclimitised  to  the  tank  dissolves  and  during  this  time  it  induces  rizhome  rotting  to  anubias.  This  doesnt  happen  always  but  having  a  very  bad  experiance  once  I  dont  want  to  take  risk.

I  request  everyone  else  also  to  help  me  with  this.Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I  know  bold  means  shouting  but  all  the  other  text  formatting  buttons  are  not  working  .Pardon  me  for  that

Dheep  :  Pinnatifida  will  grow  fine  on  driftwood  but  make  sure  it  has  completely  acclimated  to  your  tank  then  only  tie  it  to  your  driftwood.  This  plant  even  in  the  best  conditions  can  take  a  long  time  to  get  settled  but  then  it  takes  off  quite  a  bit.  The  only  problem  is  the  mess  that  the  old  leaves  create  which  the  plant  sheds  regularly.

Mine  is  currently  growing  on  a  rock  and  its  even  flowering.  Its  definitely  not  an  easy  plant  and  needs  quite  a  bit  of  maintenance  to  keep  it  looking  best.

Jabba  :  No  Sir  please  !  What  kind  of  a  plant  are  you  looking  for  ?  My  other  suggestion  would  be  to  get  a  stem  plant  which  has  larger  leaves  and  a  bit  of  colour  such  as  sunset  hygro  or  Ludwidgia  sp  and  trim  it  regularly  to  keep  it  at  medium  height  or  maybe  make  a  moss  tree  with  driftwood  in  that  area.  Can  you  post   pic  with  the  target  area  circled  to  give  a  better  idea  ?
