Finally the frame work / welding for the roof is over.. fingers crossed.. and grinding teeth.. i hope the sheets are on today :)
Added this protrusion so rain water or debris wouldn't fall close to the tank..
Some brackets to hold lights..
Our (elusive) carpenter has been working on the frame around the tank..
Will update post laying the polycarbonate sheets.. |

Part of the work got done.. i'm not too happy with the frame.. should have been more supports in between to hold the sheet.. at some places the sheet is bulging.. i guess some corrective action is due tomorrow..

good progress.
I guess you need more support in between for a smooth curve on the roof.
Good luck. |

Great going Kaya !
I think instead of getting more support for the frame , u need to get this sheet work done properly. These buldges shhould not be there.

@deepak - thanks. yes.. it does need more beams in between..
@ansh - Thanks..the sheet work def has to be re-done.. the additional support is to get a smoother curve.. i actually wanted to weld a wire mesh over the frame and the lay the sheets.. that would have made sure there would be no drooping or bulging anywhere..hmmm.. thats a different story.. well lets see what i can do with this mess or else i'm jus gonna have to go with my wire mesh idea.. |

Hey Kaya
Well, if we go through the pics once again, it clearly shows that the curved frame is not bending at any point, so even the sheet should not bend. What I mean to say is that even if u put a wired mesh between the frame and the sheet, it will still bend or droop like this. Either u get this sheet re-done by fixing it from the top and then coming down (towards the edges) or u can get a better (thick) quality sheet for the same. I've got the same thing done at my backyard (not for an aquarium but for my mom's laundry area ) just few days back and was facing the same problem, so I got a sheet with more thickness. Now things are looking great.
Regards
