 @sunilvirus
 Hi  Sunil,

 There  are  2  questions  from  you.
 1)  Will  the  silver  paper  fade?
 Yes.  But  not  too  much.  Over  a  time  white  dots  appear  on  the  silver  paper  and  the  effect  will  reduce.  The  white  dots  are  caused  by  the  water  droplets  falling  on  the  paper.  These  white  dots  can  happen  to  your  metal  reflector  also  but  the  impact  is  less  than  that  of  silver  paper.  You  can  use  a  transparent  sheet  below  to  protect  the  silver  paper/reflector.

 2)  Will  the  silver  burn  over  time?
 Unless  you  use  Incandescent  light  or  similar  lights,  which  generates  too  much  of  heat,  it  will  not  burn.
 Tested  with  T5HO  lights,  PL  lights  and  CFL  lights.  No  burns  till  now.     Smile

 Thanks  for  the  extra  info.

 In  my  current  aquarium,  I  kept  a  transparent  paper  to  protect  my  light  from  splashes.
 But  it  used  to  get  brittle  and  ultimately  fall  off  as  small  pieces  into  the  aquarium.
 I  had  to  replace  them  frequently.

 Yes  Sudhher.
 Cutting  the  PVC  into  two  halves  is  the  toughest  job  in  this  DIY.
 I  used  just  Haxo  blades.
 There  are  2  gauges  (thickness)  of  PVC  coming  for  4"  diameter  PVC.
 Cutting  the  thinner  gauge  of  lot  more  simpler  than  cutting  the  thicker  one

 Sujo,  can  you  please  get  the  photos  of  the  cutter  and  the  blade?

 I  am  very  inspired  by  your  project.

 Hi,
 First  I  would  like  to  thank  Mr  Sujo  for  the  DIO.
 I  have  done  the  same  type  with  2  x  36w  Philips  PLL  in  6"  dia.  instead  of  4"  dia.   as  the  width  of  the  aquarium  is  15"
 Using  from  06.11.2012  daily  for  6  hrs.  and  there  is  no  heat,  problems  till  today.

 Thanks.

 @matnoh
 It  is  hacksaw  blade.
 Very  common  in  every  hardware  shop.
 Cost  is  from  2  Rs  to  10Rs.
 http://www.lynskeyperformance.com/store/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/p/a/park-csb-1_006.jpg
 Hope  this  helps.

 @radjanair
 6"  diameter  PVC  normally  comes  with  thick  guage  and  it  is  very  difficult  to  cut  it  lengthwise.
 Once  I  did  it  and  it  took  more  than  an  hour  of  hard  work.
 4"  PVC  comes  in  thin  guage  and  it  is  much  easier  to  cut  it.
 Please  share  some  photos  of  your  project.

 How  to  show  your  photos  along  with  your  post.

 Option  1
 Click  on  "Post  Reply"  option  below  the  post.
 Add  your  photos  as  attachment.
 The  images  will  be  scaled  and  appear  in  a  small  box  with  your  post.  (See  the  sample  below)

 The  other  way  is...

 Option  2
 Make  your  photos  to  appropriate  size  using  some  image  editing  tool  (approximately  600  to  700  pixels  width)
 Register  and  log  in  to  photobucket.com
 Upload  your  photos  there.
 Take  "Direct  Link"  of  the  photo  from  photobucket.
 In  IAH  forum  compose,  find  "Insert  Image".
 Click  that  and  give  the  direct  url  when  it  asks  for  "Enter  the  image  URL".
 Then  you  see  how  to  proceed.

 Please  see  below  how  the  photos  will  appear  in  these  2  different  ways.

 Hi  Radjanair,
 Your  DIY  looks  very  good.
 The  half  circles  you  have  fitted  at  the  sides  give  more  perfection.

 Thanks
