 Thomas,
Please  visit  the  nearest  good  electrical  shop  and  ask  for  a  step-up  transformer  from  120  to  240  volts.  You  will  get  varieties  of  them.
 cheers

Step  up  from  110/120  volts  to  220/240
 Or
Step  down  from  220/240  volts  to  110/120  volts
Basically  it  is  voltage  converter  and  can  be  used  for  multiple  accessories  such  as  players,  cameras,  shavers,  strobes,  battery  chargers  etc........

In  Bangalore  SJP  road  is  the  place  but  no  idea  in  Pondy  Shocked

 Hi,
I  guess  Thomas  has  a  doubt  on  -  how  to  adapt  an  Air  Conditioning  unit  to  control  water  temperature  &  he  is  referring  to  AC  as  in  Air  conditioner.  Smile

Well,  I  only  have  a  overview  -  I  guess  you'll  need  a  Cu  coil  of  a  much  longer  length  (based  on  calculations)  to  be  connected  to  it,  this  will  be  a  substitute  for  the  diffuser,  which  is  immersed  in  water  that  needs  to  be  cooled  (You  can  use  a  sump  as  well  &  then  connect  this  to  the  Aquarium).

An  additional  temperature  sensor  will  be  required  that  can  precisely  monitor  water  temperature  &  control  the  AC  unit.

The  Cu  coil  will  have  to  be  coated  with  anti-corrosive  coating  so  as  to  protect  the  unit  as  well  as  the  aquatic  life.

 HTH.Smile

Place  the  AC  such  that  the  air  from  the  blower  hits  the  tank.

A/c  Blowing  on  the  Water  will  reduce  temp  to  abt  2-3  degrees  less  than  the  ambient  temp  around  the  tank...  so  u  wont  be  able  to  acheive  that  24-26  deg.

perfect  for  this  is  using  a  Split  A/c,  take  the  2  Copper  Wires  from  the  Outdoor  unit,  and  coil  the  CU  with  anti  corrosive  agent  (suitable  for  marine  application)  and  dip  the  coils  into  the  water  to  chill  the  water.

You  get  Digital  thermostats,  that  u  can  wire  up  to  the  Outdoor  unit  to  control  the  temp  of  the  water...

it  is  easier  said  than  done...
