have  got  some  viejas...problem  is  its  very  aggressive...i  would  like  to  keep  some  bottom  feeders  with  it...tried  with  albino  bristlenoses,  leopard  plecos,  and  finally  a  gold  nugget...but  none  seems  to  work  out...the  vieja  picks  on  them  and  chases  them  relentlessly,  even  if  the  plecos  are  hiding  behind  driftwoods...so,  is  there  any  bottom-feeder  that  i  can  keep  with  it??  my  friend  has  a  7  inch  synodontis  eupterus  for  sale,  but  am  not  too  keen  in  getting  it  since  its  an  african  cat...

Aren't  V.  Argentea  the  most  aggressive  of  the  Vieja?

Also,  can  you  mention  the  size  of  the  V.  Argentea?

Each  fish  has  a  different  personality  Smile  at  that  size  they  can  be  quite  aggressive  also  they  will  require  more  space  and  when  they  get  their  space  then  maybe  they  will  stop  bothering  other  fish  but  then  there  are  some  fish  that  take  up  the  entire  tank  no  matter  how  big...IMO,  a  3.5ft  is  quite  small  for  that  fish  Smile
 Cheers

A  tough  contestant  like  the  Nicaraguan  cichlid  should  be  a  good  tank  mate.

In  my  5  footer  i  lost  the  nicaraguan's.
In  a  4  footer  all  by  themselves,  there  was  no  aggresion.

Prem's  tank  had  enough  space,  i  think.

or  should  it  be  housed  like  what  Jibran  has  housed  it.

As  said,  the  given  space  should  make  the  difference.

You  always  have  an  easy  option  of  Convict  cichlid  too.

wel,  yes,  that  tank  isnt  that  big...will  replace  this  tank  with  a  4.5x1.5x1.5  widin  a  couple  of  months...but  dats  it,  not  more  than  that,  wont  be  able  to  accomodate  a  6  feeter...

shankar's  Nicaraguan  cichlid  idea  is  damn  tempting   Cheer     ...
