 Loved  your  tank,  Uday!
Inspite  of  being  a  strong  advocate  of  barebottoms,I  admire  your  setup.Clean, minimalistic  and  healthy  fishes!
 Keep  it  up!
Regarding  the  peppering  issue  the  BD,Snow  white,LSS  and  the  turqs  are  not  pigeon  blood-so  no  peppering  is  expected  on  them.Instead  they  have  regular  stress  bars  but  nothing  to  be  alarmed  about! The  pick  of  the  lot  is  the  Marlboro(01:01)  and  its  near  perfect  shape.

Superb,  awesome  …  I  am  running  out  of  exclamations   Chuckle
Keeping  them  HAPPY  in  a  planted  tank,  with  a  dark  background  and  that  too  with  a  pleco  needs  lot  lots  of  dedication  and  passion.  Hats  off  man.

Yours  will  be  milestone  for  me  in  the  near  future.  Though  I  keep  my  discus  in  a  semi-planted  tank  (potted  plants)  but  the  beauty  subsides  in  bare  bottom.

Request  you  to  provide  some  specifications  like:
 Tank  Size  –
 WC  –
 Temp  –
 Plants  –
 Substrate  Used  –
 Duration  of  this  tank  –
 Feeding  –

One  question:  How  did  you  traing  that  pleco  in  tank  to  live  peacefully  with  your  discus?   Surprised

Wish  you  good  luck  maintaining  this  marvelous  tank!   Cheer

 Regards,
 Suman

 Stunning  tank  Thumbs Up
peppering  and  stress  bars  are  signs  of  discus  trying  to  align  with  the  environment.  Dark  background  gives  an  impression  of  dusky   environment.  But  dark  background  with  medium  lights  on  which  is  in  case  of  the  video  footage, discus  will  not  show  any  stress  sign

 Thanks  everybody  for  your  comments.

 Tank  specifics  are  as  follows

 Size  4ft  X  1.5ft  X  depth  16"

13  discus  they  are  with  me  since  a  year

 temp  around  30

plants  -   2  plastic  and  one  potted  is  some  banana  plant  (  not  sure)   this  was  1/4th  the  current  size  when  bought.

Feeding  :  They  have  grown  on  variety  of  foods.   Chicken  breast  mix,   beef  heart  ,  Hikari  bio  gold,  Tetra  bits.     The  excellent  quality  beef  heart  is  from  Aditya  and  Carey.   Difficult  to  feed  beef  heart   with  gravel  so  since  last  3  months  they  are  fed  only  tetra  bits.   Tetra  bits  is  according  to  my  experience  the  safest  for  home  setup.   Growth  is  little  slow  but  if  fed  properly  they  show  best  coloration  and  health.   Feeding  schedule  is  to  be  fed  only  on  demand.   I  don't  feed  them  at  all  if  they  are  not  near  the  front  glass  waiting  for  their  meal.   Now   a  days  they  are  all  the  time  demanding  food  which  is  a  good  thing.   I   give  them  small  (  to  be  finished  in  5  mts.)  feeds  3  to  4  times  a  day.

All  this  are  bought  from  reputed  and  reliable  breeders.  In  fact  one  of  them  had  told  me  about  merits  of  tetra  bits  (  closest  to  what  they  eat  in  nature).  When  asked  why  do  breeders  dont  use  it  the  considerations  were  slow  growth  rate  and  cost  factor.   If  your  goal  is  fast  growth,  big  size  and  if  ready  for  heavy  water  changes  then  Beef  heart  is  obviously  better.   Hikrai  bio  gold  is  excellent  but  difficult  to  get.

I  do  daily  15  %  water  change  and  50%  WC  once  a  week

Gravel  is  golden  sand  in  a  thin  layer  which  can  be  vacuumed  lightly  daily  and  properly  once  a  week.

About  pleco  ,  the  moment  a  pleco  acts  funny  back  it  goes  to  fish  shop.   I  start  with  the  smallest  size  (  when  its  always  harassed  by  a  few  curious  discus).   Interesting  observation  is  that  this  pleco  has  never  eaten  beef  heart  and  will  change  track  even  if  accidentally  crosses  any  discus's  path.  I  don't  know  if  there  is  any  relation  but  with  beef  heart  they  have  a  tendency  to  be  first  in  pecking  order.  One  more  advantage  of  tetra  bits  is  everybody  gets  to  eat  without  aggression  from  anybody.

So  in  short  I  decided  to  grow  discus  with  least  amount  of  fuss  and  aim  is  a  good  looking  tank  rather  than  big  size  or  breeding.
