 Hi  Abhis
The  watts/gallon  goes  out  of  the  window  when  it  comes  to  LED,  In  fact  its  not  a  good  enough  for  other  lights  too.  But  unfortunately  we  have  no  other  choice  right  now.
LED  lights  are  as  varied  as  any  other  type  of  bulbs,  and  there  are  all  kinds  of  low  to  high  end  LED's.
some  cheap  and  some  costs  a  lot..
Are  you  going  for  the  same  type  as  Madan  had  posted  a  few  weeks  back...The  chinese  ones..?

 Noop......no  chinese  at  all......

I  like  the  LED  system  made  by  Shelly.  For  1ft  cube  he  given  12  no.  of  3  watt  LED.  That  mean  36  watt.

And  they  are  not  chinese  .....but  whole  setup  bit  costly.

Also  I  don't  know  how  many  watt  I  need  for  my  tank.

Moreover  I  want  to  know  how  the  performance  of  the  LED  lighting....that  area  is  still  gray  to  me.

 Need  more  suggestion........

BTW,  get  lumens  rating  for  the  lights  you  are  going  to  use,  w/g  does  not  true  for  smaller  tanks.

Add  up  lumens  of  your  light,  divide  by  area  of  your  tank(inches)  and  you  will  get  LSI  for  you  tank  (lumens  per  square  inch)

A  LSI  under  5  is  low  light,
 5-10  is  medium  light
 10-15  is  well  lit
 15-20  is  bright  lit
Over  20  is  very  high  light.

Your  72  w  PLL  will  produce  5400  lumnens.
Dividing  by  your  surface  area  24*15=  360  sq  inch

 LSI  =  5400/360     =  15

This  falls  in  well  lit  tank.
However  it  depends  on  what  plants  you  want  to  have.

I  will  go  for  Iwagumi.........with  HC,  Pervulla  etc....

But  I  always  want  for  higher  side.  So  later  on  I  don't  have  to  change  if  I  go  for  any  other  scape  keeping  in  mind  with  Red  color  plant.

 Am  I  right  Sandeep  !!

If  you  want  your  fish  and  plants  to  look  a  bit  more  colorful  ...  you  can  add  a  flora  tube  of  about  15  watts  ...  but  truthfully  2x36w  is  high  light  considering  the  PAR  ratings  of  PL  tubes  are  quite  decent

 Am  I  right  Sandeep  !!

A  lot  can  depend  upon  the  type  of  relector  you  are  going  to  use.
There  is  36x3  pll  fitting  with  reflector,  you  can  use  that  also.
Iwagumi  type  setups  look  better  in  longer  tanks,  it  would  be  hard  to  get  a  typical  Iwagumi  setup  in  a  24  "  tank.

 Hi  Sandeep,

I  am  not  fully  agree  with  you.  My  planted  mission  start  with  Iwagumi  with  HC.

Have  a  look  in  this  thread.........24"x10"x10"  tank

My  photography  skill  in  Aqua  is  very  poor.  I  know  how  it  was  in  face  to  face.

 Hi  Darius,

 Thanks  for  your  suggestion.

Currently  I  am  using  2x36  watt  pll(Osram)  for  my  24"x10"x10"  tank.  Till  now  works  fine.
