 Hi,

Does  anyone  know  where  I  can  get  quality  earthworms  in  Bangalore?  I  tried  in  a  couple  of  Plant  Nurseries,  but  they  don't  have  it.  Let  me  know  if  anyone  know  where  I  can  get  them.

Also,  Can  anyknow  let  me  know  how  do  i  feed  the  earthworms  to  Discus?

 Thanks,
 Harish

 Hi  Harish,

You  will  get  it  at  GKVK  (Gandhi  Krishi  Vignan  Kendra)  near  Hebbal  a  State  Government  owned  department.  I  purchased  long  back  for  the  same  purpose  and  collected  the  Phone  No.  Please  check  before  going  and  I  am  herewith  furnishing  the  contact  number  for  the  same.

I  checked  with  GKVK  sometime  back.   They  asked  me  if  I  had  a  ready  E.worm  breeding  setup  at  home  (which  could  be  a  pit/  large  cement/  plastic  tank  where  you  dump  organic  waste  etc,  which  is  then  covered  with  soil.   This  setup  should  be  about  2-week  old  so  that  its  ready  for  e.worms).   Of  course,  you  can  say  you  have  and  buy,  but  I  think  its  good  that  you  really  setup  something  like  this  before  you  buy  from  them.   Of  course,  they're  not  going  to  sell  to  you  if  you  say  you're  going  to  feed  your  fishes  Smile

I  don't  know  much  about  discuss  but  sure  know  full  grown  earthworms  are  not  suitable  for  the  discuss..  They  might  be  too  big  for  them  to  gulp.  So  you  might  have  to  hand  pick  smaller  worms.

start  an  earth  worm  culture  when  you  get  the  earth  worms.
I  don't  think  it  is  very  hard.

Any  ways  is  earth  worm  better  than  BHM  for  discus?
