 Hi  All,
I'm  a  new  comer  to  this  forum,  and  also  this  is  my  first  post,  please  do  comment  about  my  first  planted  tank  aquarium.  I  have  done  a  whole  lot  of  researches  before  setting  up  the  tank.
 Well  have  attached  few  clicks...
 1.  It's  a  27~Lt  tank.
 2.  It  is  a  week  old  tank.
 3.  Have  a  HBL  external  filter,  added  Ehiem  filter  medium  balls
 4.  Lots  of  fast  growing  as  well  as  slow  growing  plants  such  as  Vallisneria  &  Cryptocoryne  Wendti....
 6.  Have  added  few  Red  Cherry  Shrimps  &  Molly  Fries  to  prevent  algae.
 7.  Have  a  DIY  CO2  setup  too.
 8.  Have  ADA  substrate.
Planning  to  add  some  rare  fishes  after  the  cycling  process  is  complete.

If  you  have  used  ADA  amazonia,  then  why  have  you  covered  it  with  white  sand,  it  looks  very  odd,  at  least  to  me.  Very Happy
Those  rocks  look  like  limestone  rocks,  test  them  with  acid  and  remove  them.
Increase  more  plants,  a  planted  tank  should  have  nearly  no  visible  substrate.

Thanx  everybody  for  giving  your  valuable  suggestions,  the  white  sand  does  not  cover  the  substrate,  its  is  only  on  the  foreground  to  get  a  little  glow  effect,  planned  to  not  put  any  plant  in  the  white  area.
Sandeep  -  your  are  correct  in  a  way  that  planted  tanks  should  not  have  any  visibly  substrate,  but  i  feel  it  is  very  common  to  cover  the  entire  bottom  with  plants.  Rest  of  the  background  where  the  substrate  is  put  have  covered  entirely  with  plants,  will  show  in  few  weeks.  U  still  think  i  should  remove  the  white  sand,  everyone  who  has  seen  the  tank  have  liked  the  combination,  and  say  it  looks  different.
 Thanx  all  everybody...

You  shouldnt  have  added  shrimps  now.....The  reason  is  that  since  the  ADA  is  not  completely  covered  with  plants  now.
Eventually  they  will  mix  up  with  the  white  sand  and  that  will  make  the  tank  look  really  odd.
Also  make  sure  that  you  never  add  any  snails,  they  will  also  mix  up  the  substrate.
One  other  thing  I  see  missing  is  that  the  effort  to  separate  the  two  substrate  is  not  proper.
Even  without  shrimps  or  snails  one  should  make  sure  that  the  two  substrate  (especially  when  one  is  for  'fertilization'  and  other  is  for  'show'  and  also  has  lots  of  contrast  on  each  other  being  one  is  extreme  black  and  other  is  clean  white).

I  would  suggest,  as  sandeep  said,  remove  the  white  sand.
But  the  difference  I  would  suggest  is  keep  the  portion  where  you  want  to  keep  the  white  sand  bare-bottom,  Until  the  ada  part  gets  thickly  covered  with  plants.  After  that  you  can  add  the  white  sand  so  that  the  substrate  don't  mix  up.This  will  avoid  adding  more  rocks  and  all  to  stop  the  substrate  from  mixing

Thnx  Jabba,  keeping  the  white  sand  area  bare  untill  ADA  settles  makes  a  lot  of  sense,  really  appreciate  your  viewpoint.
