am  not  good  at  gene  pooling  dude.  but  from  what  i  understand  that  if  you  cross  a  Pink  male  with  a  Black  female,  you  will  get  more  of  pink  colored  ones  and  viceversa.  dont  go  by  what  am  saying  cos  i  honestly  havent  tried  cross  breeding  the  two  color  variations.

wow  zakk..you  have  been  biten  by  your  fishes  so  many  times..it  must  have  been  a  painful  yet  delightful  experience  for  you..
next  time  my  cichlids  spawn,i  would  try  and  put  my  hand  in  their  tank  and  see  what  happens..  Chuckle

If  you  really  want  to  try,  then  try  your  luck  with  Flowerhorn  pair.....They  dont  even  allow  you  to  keep  hand  near  aquarium....when  you  try  to  feed  them...they  almost  jump  above  water  level  to  keep  your  hand  away  from  your  tank...

my  thoughts  exactly!  i  have  seen  some  not  to  ugly  flower  horns,  but  usually  they  are  females  but  in  my  18  odd  years  of  keeping  fish  i  havent  once  ventured  into  a  hybrid.  a  staunch  advocate  for  non  hybridized  fish.  i  dont  get  it.  HOW  does  a  fish  define  ones  luck?  lol

breeding  convicts  terrorise  all  other  fish  in  the  tank, have  a  pair  currently  in  a  70  gal  tank  with  some  large  robust  fishes, including  a  large  male  green  terror, who  rule  the  tank   otherwise.
but  when  these  buggers  are  with  the  fry, they  go  absolutely  crazy  and  push  all  the  fish  including  the  GT  into  the  far  corner  ..and  KEEP  them  there!
about  the  comment  on  piranhas  above,id  like  to  mention  that  piranhas  arnt  aggressive  fish  in  the  cichlid  way  .they  are  just  efficient  predators.they  will  run  away  from  a  territorial  cichlid  all  day, but  someday  the  cichlid  just  disappears.it  happens  all  the  time.
