Nice  fishes  sid,  only  one  thing  which  I've  observed  is  the  breathing  of  the  fishes.  It  seems  they  are  breathing  very  fast.  Ammonia  problem?

 Abhi,

I  must  be  doing  something  right  in  raising  these  Malawis  to  get  a  compliment  from  you..Smile  Thanks  a  lot!

Thanks  to  Rahul,  Aadesh  and  others  as  well.

 Vivek,

Take  your  time  and  ensure  your  Fronts  are  well  settled  before  moving  the  tank.  Smile  Once  your  Fronts  get  to  breeding  age,  you  are  going  to  be  the  primary  source  for  "Purple"  Mobas  for  all  Bombay  hobbyists.

hi
 looking  gr8!

 but  aren't  they  kodangos?....
 PS;  can't  see  auratus....where  are  they  ??.....

These  may  not  be  Kadangos..I  think  they  may  be  a  strain  of  the  same  Yellow  Peacock  bred  to  show  some  red/orange.  With  time  as  they  grow  larger,  it  will  be  easier  to  ID  them.

There  are  too  many  nice  and  delicate  fish  in  this  tank  to  risk  keeping  Auratus  in  them..  The  Mubna  (3  Auratus  and  2  Kenyi  (Blue  Morph))  are  currently  in  a  bucket  (with  a  sponge  filter)  till  I  figure  out  what  to  do  with  them.

This  is  what  I  will  advice  you  as  well..  Don't  keep  aggressive  Mbuna  with  your  fish.

 -Sid

One  of  the  experts  on  another  forum  has  identified  the  red  peacock  as  Aulonocara  "German  Red"

 Hello  Suyash,

Most  Mbuna  (rock-dwelling  Malawi  Cichlids)  are  very  aggressive  as  compared  to  Hap"Utaka"  (or  Malawi  Cichlids  of  open  waters).

 I  just  don't  want  to  risk  a  Rs.  200  fish  for  a  Rs.20  fish.

(Another  reason  is  that  my  50  gal  tank  was  going  to  prove  a  bit  small  for  all  16  Malawi  Cichlids  (11+  5  mbuna)..Once  I  upgrade  to  the  90  gal.  I  will  have  the  option  of  getting  some  more  fish..  I  will  consider  a  couple  more  of  Yellow  Labs  and  Blue  Dolphins  and  keep  an  eye  out  for  any  premium  Peacocks  available.)

I  am  planning  to  give  them  away  to  my  favorite  Local  Fish  Store  (LFS)  at  Chembur  (when  I  find  time  this  weekend).

I  would  have  given  them  to  you  if  you  had  a  Mbuna  only  tank,  but  I  don't  want  you  to  risk  your  premium  fish  either.  (Which  reminds  me,  Is  your  Auratus  still  in  the  "hospital  tank"?..  If  you  want,  I  can  get  the  Mbuna  to  your  place..  They  can  live  in  the  "Hospital  tank"  for  a  few  months  before  they  will  grow  larger  and  you  will  have  to  consider  giving  them  away.  Let  me  know..)

 Cheers,
 Sid

PS:  Yellow  Labs  are  technically  mbuna,  but  they  are  among  the  exceptions.
