What's  there  in  the  dive  with  ME?  Â Chuckle  .  Nauzer  am  still  learning  so  many  things...not  at  all  even  near  G  of  Guru.  Pls  dont  be  so  harsh  on  me.  Chuckle
 Anyways,  the  nearest  diving  area  for  you  should  be  Verawal.  Hope  that's  the  right  spelling.  Been  there  for  a  very  brief  session,  but  only  once.  Man  that  place  is  flooded  with  Blue  Ring  Angels  and  some  unidentified  Yellow  wrasses.  But  the  localites  said  that  diving  /  snorkelling  was  not  allowed  officially.  Must  be  true.  A  very  nice  and  untouched  (hopefully)  underwater  scene.

 yes  the  blue  rings  are  available  in  abundance  here  -  the  waters  are  also  clearer  compared  to  the  other  reefs  on  the  western  coast  -  the  only  problem  though  is  that  we  miss  some  real  time  reef  conservation  society  or  association  who  is  really  interested  in  saving  and  restoring  the  reef!  The  unidentified  yellow  wrasse  is  commanly  reffered  to  as  the  'banana  wrasse'  Chuckle
 I  actually  want  someone  to  be  with  me  on  the  dive  because  I  dont  even  know  swimming  :rolf:  at-least  there  should  be  someone  who  can  respond  to  my  SOS!

 @pcjacob,
 At  any  dive  destinations,  you  may  not  enjoy  the  most  with  dive  organisers,  if  you  are  not  a  first  timer.  The  reason  is  these  people  have  to  consider  the  nasty  tourists  in  mind  and  just  cover  up  same  places  again  and  again,  only  to  encounter  the  few  visiting  fishes.  You  will  end  up  spending  some  $$  just  to  see  some  bold  sgt  major  damsels  and  odd  batfish  from  a  distance.  Thumb Down

 Best  option  is  to  DIY  snorkel  in  a  very  shallow  lagoon  first  and  then  attempt  more  deeper  waters,  IF  YOU  KNOW  TO  SWIM.  Pls  do  not  venture  alone  if  you  are  a  first-timer  and  better  stick  on  to  the  organisers.

   Thumb Up

 Hmmm  that  doesnt  answer  my  question.  Im  a  PADI  certified  diver  and  therefore  to  hire  dive  gear  and  to  know  of  and  reach  dive  sites  i  would  require  the  assistance  of  dive  companies.
 Snorkelling  sure  is  fun,  but  i  dont  think  there  are  shallow  reefs  near  Goa.
