 Beautiful  pictures,  Samit.

I  prefer  the  black  background.  Highlights  the  plants  better.  My  suggestion  would  be  to  change  the  rocks  to  something  that  is  a  little  more  darker  -  beige,  brown  or  black.

The  whitish  look  doesn't  gel  with  rocks  that  have  been  under  water.

I  agree  with  you  Suraj!  Again,  I  had  two  things  in  my  mind  when  I  decided  to  use  these  stones!
 1.  I  never  wanted  the  hardscape  to  look  like  an  underwater  scenario,  rather  tried  my  best  to  make  it  look  like  a  terrestrial  terrain.  That's  why  I  used  birght  color  stone  with  sharp  edges.

 2.  Though  I  felt  the  same  like  you,  that  the  bright  white  color  of  the  rocks  should  be  toned  down.  But,  again  thought  that  it  might  become  little  less  brighter  after  staying  under  water  for  few  months.

Thanks  a  lot  for  your  suggestion!  I  appreciate  your  aesthetic  approach  towards  aquascaping.

Taboo  Island  -  with  thematic  light  settings  to  simulate  a  dusky  dark  atmosphere!  Hope  you  like  it!

 Hi  Samit

Â Liked  your  simulation  of  lights  how  exactly  have  you  achived  it,  the  "dusky  dark  atmosphere",  looks  very  cool  Â Thumb Up
I  am  guessing  the  light  is  coming  from  the  side  and  not  the  top.

 Regards
   Harshal

 Thanks  for  your  comments  Harshal.

I  feel  Aquascaping  is  not  only  about  growing  plants,  but  also  about  creating  an  ambiance,  simulating  a  picturesque.

You  are  right.  The  lights  are  coming  from  sides  and  not  from  top.  Obviously,  these  lights  are  not  the  lights  that  have  been  used  for  the  plants.  While  taking  the  image,  I  have  put  them  off  and  also  put  off  all  other  light  sources  of  the  room  to  reduce  unwanted  lights.  I  have  used  three  separate  light  sources.  As  I  am  not  yet  equipped  with  professional  lighting  equipments,  for  the  time  being,  I  have  used  ordinary  torches!  I  used  papers  to  diffuse  light  source,  as  required,  to  soften  the  light  in  some  areas.  In  a  sentence,  I  wanted  to  create  various  light  zones,  to  create  a  dramatic  feel  that  resulted  into  this  twilight  atmosphere.

Various  light  zones  are  clearly  and  distinctively  visible  in  this  image:

 Cheers!

 Samit

You  are  very  good  with  your  photographs  and  creativity,  Samit.

Why  don't  you  post  details  about  your  camera  and  settings,  so  it  will  help  other  people  try  and  achieve  the  same?
