 Hi  Vinod,
Welcome  to  IAH.  I  did  my  schooling  in  Bangalore.  Had  a  classmate  by  the  same  name  who  is  a  doctor  in  the  US  now.  And  I  was  2  years  old  in  1976,  hardly  in  any  school.   Very Happy

Anyway  great  to  meet  you  and  went  through  all  your  expeditions.  Hope  we  meet  someday.

 Hello  Vinod
It  was  your  article   "Collecting  Tropical  Fish  in  India"  which  enthused  me  towards  native  fish.  Thanks.

Gokul  -  India  has  some  of  the  most  fascinating  fishes  I  can  think  of.   I  could  fill  hundreds  of  tank  with  cool  Indian  fish.   My  biggest  tank  (600  L  or  so)  is  dedicated  to  Indian  fishes,  even  though  I  visit  the  Amazon  on  a  yearly  basis.   Get  away  from  the  cities  with  a  fish  net  and  a  couple  of  buddies  -  you'll  come  home  with  some  awesome  fish.   Wish  I  were  near  some  hill  streams  of  Kerala  right  now!   Sigh!

How  true  Vinod.  I'm  relatively  new  to  the  hobby.  I  started  keeping  fish  after  the  flowerhorn  craze  .  I  didn't  know  then  that  they  were  hybrids.  Later,  when  I  found  out,  I  gave  them  to  the  LFS  (they  were  pretty  much  in  demand  then).  How  lucky  Iam  to  be  in  a  place  (Erode)  which  is  close  to  the  forests  and  hills  of  Karnataka,  TN  and  Kerala.  I  will  start  on  a  collection  trip  soon.   Your  collection  trip  articles  along  with  those  in  this  portal  are  inspiring.  I  wish  our  fish  become  more  popular  here.  Keep  coming  to  India  for  more  collection  trips.

 Warm  Regards

Hey  beta  -  I  will  be  in  India  for  about  a  week  in  December,  spread  out  between  relative  in  Kerala  and  newly  acquired  relatives  in  Bombay.   I'll  pack  a  net  and  plan  on  getting  my  knees  wet  on  at  least  one  of  those  days.   Dont  tell  my  relatives,  but   what  I'm  really  looking  forward  to  is  the  side  trip  to  Myanmar  and  Singapore  before  stopping  by  India.     Smile
