 Hi  Mel,

Seems  like  a  sudden  change  in  environment,  water  conditions  etc  have  induced  them  to  breed.  Congratulation!

Now  the  next  challenge  would  be  to  raise  the  fry's.  They  look  really  tiny  and  I  think  decapsulated  brine  shrimp  eggs  will  be  a  little  big  for  them  to  feed  on.

Instead  you  could  check  with  Prabhu,  if  he  has  Hikari  First  Bite  or  Hikari  Plankton,  to  feed  them.

All  the  best  in  raising  these  beauties.

 regards,
 Surya

So  its  been  a  few  days  now  and  I  haven't  seen  the  fry  swimming  around  so  my  assumption  is  that  el  parente  got  hungry  and  decided  that  a  midnight  snack  was  in  order.  Not  terribly  disappointed  but  it  would  have  been  nice  to  see  them  growing  up.

On  another  note,  what  do  people  on  here  use  to  clean  the  inside  glass  on  their  tanks?  I  am  using  a  toothbrush  to  wipe  it  when  I  do  my  water  changes  and  then  I  use  the  airline  tube  to  suck  out  all  the  dirt.  It's  not  terribly  effective  but  I  get  about  70%  of  the  dirt  out  which  is  okay  for  me.

I'm  assuming  that  you  are  talking  about  cleaning  algae  stains  off  the  glass,  right?  If  yes,  then  most  of  use  cuttle  fish  bone,  blades,  tooth  brush,  commercially  available  tank  cleaning  magnetic  brushes,  sponge,  blades  ect,  and  cleaner  crew  like  otto's,  plecos,  shrimps,  snails,  etc

However,  tooth  brush  will  work  best  for  your  tank  and  is  you  want  you  could  add  few  shrimps.

 Regards,
 Surya!

@Surya:  Shrimp  sound  like  a  nicer  and  more  natural  way  for  me  to  achieve  what  I  want.  We'll  talk  about  it  on  Saturday.
@Hrishi:  I  don't  mind  showing  you  the  CPD  fry  if  they  will  show  themselves  to  me.  Haven't  seen  them  in  a  over  a  day  with  a  watchful  eye.  I  am  hoping  they  are  still  in  the  tank.

So,  I  have  a  few  questions  regarding  the  fry  in  my  tank  (if  they  are  still  in  there).

 1.  Is  there  any  way  for  me  to  lure  them  out  if  they  are  hiding  in  my  java  fern?  I  have  tried  the  obvious  answer  of  food  but  even  the  one  guy  that  was  swimming  around  earlier  is  no  longer  seen.
 2.  If  they  reach  a  certain  size,  say  0.25cms  is  it  safe  to  assume  the  parents  wouldn't  have  touched  them?
 3.  Considering  my  female  is  starting  to  look  bulky  (again),  is  there  any  way  for  me  to  tell  if  she's  looking  out  to  do  some  more  laying  of  eggs?  I  initially  didn't  put  these  guys  in  the  tank  with  the  intention  of  breeding  them  but  you  know  life  will  find  a  way.  I  also  don't  know  if  I'll  be  able  to  see  any  eggs  considering  they  are  really  tiny  but  if  there  is  a  way  i'd  love  to  know.

Also,  here  are  some  pics  of  the  fish  who  are  slowly  showing  themselves  more  to  me.  I  guess  they  are  either  used  to  the  tank  by  now  or  they  just  like  the  camera.

Excuse  the  poor  lighting,  I  am  doing  flash  experiments  with  my  not-so-great  cam  and  this  is  what  came  out  of  it.

So,  I  was  thinking  of  a  good  option  for  my  tank  in  terms  of  algae  control  and  I  thought  about  getting  an  Otto  and  leaving  the  guy  in  the  tank  to  feast  on  whatever  is  in  there.  Are  there  any  that  are  dwarfed  in  size  for  a  tank  size  that  I  own?

So  the  tank  is  stabilizing  but  I  have  noticed  some  white  scum  that  repeatedly  keeps  coming  back  no  matter  how  much  I  clean  it.  I  don't  know  if  its  algae  but  its  stringy  and  comes  off  real  easy.  I  read  somewhere  that  green  algae  can  start  out  white  and  become  less  translucent  as  time  passes.  Anyone  else  have  any  issues  like  this?

Still  going  well.  Haven't  done  much  to  it,  just  let  the  plants  grow  out  a  bit  and  trimmed  here  and  there.
