Mortis  I  used  Caribsea  Eco-Complete  after  48hrs  this  was  my  water  reading  Ph-6.8,  gH-5,  kH-.06  and  ammonia-0.  The  soil  comes  with  cycled  water  in  it.

The  plants  have  settled  beautifully  despite  of  no  Co2  and  ferts  infact  the  CRS  have  also  bred  but  the  pictures  of  the  shrimplets  I  received  were  too  blurry  to  post.  In  the  meantime  this  is  the  tank  as  of  now.

Isn't  17  low?  Mine  are  at  a  stable  24-26.  Read  that  it's  best  for  growth  and  breeding.

They  are  well  acclimatized  to  this  temperature  now  so  why  induce  a  heater  and  disturb  them   Smile  Plus  they  are  in  a  1sqft  tank  where  the  temperature  with  heater  would  change  very  fast,  so  it  can  be  risky.  I  have  kept  very  less  changes  to  this  tank  even  my  water  change  is  just  a  top-up  from  what  is  evaporated  from  my  back  sump.
