I have already maintained planted tanks with laterite, topped with gravels, I have also grown plants like Vals, Baby tears, Ludwigia, Amazon sward, Cobamba, Mint Plants(Narrow leafed one and Broad Leafed one) In a 2*1*1* tank with 18 watts Philips Day max tube light once and once with CFL 20 watts(not sure) 2 bulbs, I have kept Zebra Danios,Angels, Rams in it at different times.
Now I want to get in to planted tanks once again and I want it to be a low tech tank. I kindly request to suggest some low light plants and PM me from where I can source those plants at what cost beacuse I want to plan the budget for the planted setup
I am planning to convert two tanks (2*1*1 & 3*1.25*1) into planted setups right now with Laterite and coarse gravel as substrate
Lighting -2 Philips 18 watts(2 feet tubes) day max tube lights and one CFL 20 watts for three feet tank and 1 Philips 18 watts day max and one 18-20 watts CFL for 2 feet tank
With DIY CO2 setup
I am from Madurai (TN) Kindly let me know from where I can get the Plants

lots of moss and ferns like java fern, anubias, crypts(i do not know so many names of this plant genre) will be a good idea. keep a good driftwood and provide 1-1.5 watts per gallon of light and you are good to go.
CO2 optional but for good/fast growth a must.
