Hi,  here  am  presenting  my  first  3  months  old  Planted  tank.  Please  take  a  look  and  let  me  know  if  any  modification  is  required.

 Tank  Size:  3'x2'Hx1.5'

 Lights:  4  2'  18  watt  T8s  with  Reflector

Substrates:  Normal  Soil(1.5")  and  Top  of  that  Sand  Layer  (2")

 Flora:
 Echinodorus  ozelot
 Hygrophila  difformis
 Vallisneria  americana  (gigantea)
 Egeria  densa
 Cabomba
 Dwarf  Amazon
 Hair  Grass  (Very  Few)
 Riccia
 Java  Fern
 Windelov  Fern
 Anubias  Nana

Java  Fern,  Windelov  I  have  received  last  week  and  they  are  badly  hit  in  the  summer  while  transportation.  Hope  they  will  recover  soon.

 Hi  Trithankar,

Your  tank  looks  very  impressive  &  awesome,  especially  the  Riccia  bed  and  the  tank  background. Is  the  background  a  poster  or  a  DIY  one  using  styrofoam?

 cheers
 Babu

 Hi  Thirthankar,
   Super  tank.

May  be  a  couple  more  red  steams  would  make  it  look  even  better.

Also  i  would  say  get  rid  of  the  internal  filter  and  llok  out  for  more  options  and  look  at  Co2  if  possible.

 Raghu

Hi  babuvt,  This  is  not  DIY  styrofoam  back  ground.  This  is  just  a  poster  with  Stones  and  Moss  Picture.

Raghu,  thanks  for  your  advise.  I  am  also  trying  to  get  rid  of  this  internal  filter  and  get  a  hang  on  or  something  like  that.  But  the  main  problem  is  It's  not  a  open  tank.  So  could  not  able  to  install  a  hang  on.
I  am  using  DIY  CO2  yeast  reactor  which  is  connected  to  the  power  filter  to  diffuse  the  CO2  in  water.

 Thanks  everyone  for  the  complement.

 Good  looking  tank  tirthankar.
I  love  the  riccia  rocks  too.  what  are  those  black  pathces  on  the  riccia  rock?
 @DJRocky
whats  your  definition  of  low  tech  tank  ?
just  becoz  he  uses  DIY  co2  doesnt  mean  its  a  low  tech  tank.
You  may  want  to  do  some  reading  about  low  tech  tank.
they  are  typically  tank  with  soil  base, low  light,  No  Co2  and  no  external  fertilizers. The  excess  fish  food  serves  as  fertilizer.
No  Water  Changes  for  months  together.  etc  etc.
There  is  much  more  to  it  than  whatever  i  wrote  here.
Please  search  for  Diana  Walstad's  Ecology  of  planted  aquarium  to  learn  more  about  Low  tech  Tanks.

 Tirthankar

Nice  tank  and  very  impressive  set  up.  Add  some  bush  plants  with  smaller  leaves  to  accentuate  the  effect  of  Ricia  stone.

 Nice  work,  keep  it  up.

 Regards
 Rana
