Metrogyl  is  Metronidazole.  Its  not  an  anesthetic  agent.  Its  a  drug  that  works  against  Protozoans  and  anaerobic  bacteria

I  am  not  sure  about  its  use  in  transportation  of  fish.

Its  not  for  transportation,  the  guy  said  to  add  it  to  my  tank  before  introducing  the  fish  !

And  secondly  on  close  inspection  i  have  noticed  that  this  Arowana  has  Droopy  Eye  on  its  Left  Side  !

 Can  it  be  cured  ?
What  is  a  good  price  for  such  a  fish  ?

 Hey  Jitu,

Most  of  the  large  silver  arowanna  you  see  now  adays  have  droopy  eyes,  as  they  have  been  fed  on  a  lot  of  fatty  foods  during  its  life.  There  are  a  lot  of  ideas  which  you  can  try  to  reverse  the  process  but  nothing  is  100%  guranteed.

Well  Beta  one  of  our  Administrator  is  one  guy  who  had  a  great  pearl  arowanna  for  a  really  long  long  time.

Lets  hope  our  archive  collector  "Trevor"  has  a  pic  of  that  fish.  And  if  i  am  correct  Beta's  pet  arowanna  did  not  have  a  drop  eye  problem  as  he  fed  the  fish  on  fresh  prawn  and  not  Goldfish.  Most  LFS  advise  people  to  feed  the  arowanna  with  live  Goldfish  which  is  the  cause  for  the  drop  eye.

Make  it  the  other  way  round.  30%  water  and  70%  oxygen.  Just  slip  in  a  sheet  of  news  paper  around  the  inner  bag,  so  that  it  doesn't  see  the  outside  world  and  get  tensed.  ;  )

DE  is  common  with  silvers,  there‚Äôs  a  great  debate  about  what  actually  causes  DE.  Too  much  fatty  diet,  bad  breeding  to  list  some  of  the  causes.
Some  people  also  believe  aro  looking  at  its  own  reflection  in  bare-bottom  tank  causes  DE.  Drool

Shifting  arowana  to  a  pond  is  the  most  common  remedy  to  cure  its  DE.
BTW,  what  size  tank  you  gonna  house  this  monster?

In  a  500  l  pond,  you  could  probably  have  another  one  together,  but  I  am  not  sure  it  is  advisable.  I  guess  you  need  to  keep  atleast  three  to  reduce  aggression.

500  lts  is  just  about  132  USG.  This  should  be  good  for  only  one  arowana  IMO.
