After my query on food ... i did some googling and found that they love blanched veg sp. cucumber.
I tried it out an truly amazed at how the sucker was enjoying the food!! Overnight it ate the inner soft portion of it and I removed what was left in the morning.
Not just sucker, the other fishes also nipped at it. |

the only problem with cucumber is, the water gets spoilt very fast |

when i kept my L's i would only use courgettes, spinach and lettuce to feed them plus the usual algae wafers and pellet foods.
but for these types of fish a good book is a must, i have Back to Nature by Ingo Seidel.
because they're suckermouths people think they are veggie eater nothing can be further than the truth, alot of them are meat eaters .
i only have three species now L72, mega clown and the normal clown i also had a L114 until i sold it to a friend as he needed a female for breeding, but these 4 species need different feedings.

they don't get any thing other than hikari algae wafers, and once in a while hikari cichlid gold sinking, i don't have to worry about them not getting food as they have their own tank to themselves, so they will get enough food. |

WOW
Could we have some tank details? How many tanks are your plecos housed in? How big are the tanks and how many plecos per tank? |

yeah the light color substrate would, but the joselimaianus isn't in a tank for itself, they are the ones i use for algae cleaning purpose in my big tanks, so the tank is kinda setup for some other fish and not for the plecos.
as for the Bristlenose, they need driftwood, just like royals and many other pekoltia, for their dietary requirements, and this one was sitting right on the driftwood close to the front glass, so this is a pic |

the pekoltia are in a 30g and so are the bristlenose plecos, with an amazon plant, with a filtration of 700ltr/h.
the joselimaianus are in the 220 and the 180, they are their for glass cleaning, but they still get goodies, just for them |

headbangerjib,
i enjoyed everyone of your delightful photos. thanks for putting them up.
i have a joselimaianus. due to inexperience, i lost my gibbiceps
but the joseimaianus is doing well and is my joy.
i wish to buy an ancistrus/bushnose/bristlnose. your starlight ancistrus female is marvellous.
may i know how much u paid for them?
many thanks,
Romi |

oops, in case prices are a violation of IAH policy, could u be so kind as to pm?
in delhi, my dealer in anand parbat gets some good prices from dealers based in Mumbai. lemme know if u would be interested in a PM
ancistrus are easy to breed. some sailfins/veiltails look ethereal. i understand most of them are hybrids. |
